001.. The beginning of a new adventure..

It may come as a surprise to some, that in 2014, Armada Music appears to be making its first foray into a chill compilation. After all, Armada tunes have been essential to countless chill-out compilations for over a decade. Ever since the Gabriel & Dresden Chill Mix of Motorcycle's 'As the Rush Comes' first took over the world, the record label has produced a constant string of tracks and remixes that have found their way to relaxing locations around the globe. And now, overflowing with talent and tunes, the time has come to give each special song a new home.

From the soul-wrenching instrumentation of Michael St. Laurent's 'All Gone', to Moe Turk's jazz-infused opener, to a couple of spaced-out beauties courtesy of Rodg, the only unifying factor in this compilation is exquisite, blissful calm. One of the breakaway tracks from the compilation comes from rising Parisian talent KRONO, who deliver a powerful hit with Amsterdam vocalist Cimo Fränkel - 'Sweet Goodbye' is already making waves, and it's a force to be reckoned with.

Familiar, yet bold and new, the tone of this double mix compilation is one of over-arching beauty and deep relaxation. Pooling together dozens of exceptional tracks spanning a wide tempo range, Armada Chill 001 presents the genre as it should be - effortless and powerful.

We are proudly presenting our second catalog number by ALEJANDRO CASTELLI from Berlin. 
His NATURAL EP features two original tracks which go by the the name of Peru and Natur. Co-producer is a well known traveling man called NU.

Peru is a stomping up tempo piece of sweeping music that blows you off your dirty dancing feet. The second title Natur slows us down a bit and makes us dream of long and warm summer days. It contains a heartwarming vocal sung by his grandma and combines classical South American sounds with a catchy tune.

On the flip side you'll find hip shaking remixes by Dutch live animal SATORI and a lovely couple from northern Germany called JUST EMMA.

Low Recordings is an open, Los Angeles based community united by underground culture and the love for electronic music. The tight-knit collective hosts intimate parties in the LA area whilst presenting a regular show on Vandelay Radio showcasing their tastes, influences and dynamic label releases which have previously featured artists such as VCF and Evade Robots. This second VA compilation is another milestone for the exciting label as they continue to giving rise to a new generation of contemporary house and breakbeat artists. Russian artist Maple Syrup’s ’180’ gets things rolling with a smooth, house roller featuring gentle keys and laid-back grooves before South London’s Blo who has releases on Piff Records and Strictly Flava continues with minimal track, ‘Consciousness’, that features shimmering low-end and dazzling, skippy rhythms. LA based Evade Robots is up next with ‘In Too Deep’ – a lo-fi cut with muffled yet vibrant drums and alleviating pads in the distance whilst Eli Cash lays down electro-styled flavours, spacey electronics and ethereal atmospheres on his ‘O.R.C.A’ track. Of Paradise artist Orthographic Figure’s ‘Outside Path’ features lusciously deep house moods with the spirit of Larry Heard’s spaced out late-night undertones until U Don’t Dance boss HeartWerk drops an effervescent, jackin’ cut with rattling percussion and fluttering synths. Moving swiftly into the pulsating ‘Deep Steppin’ by the producer behind Azealia Banks ‘The Big Big Beat’, An Expresso, breaky drums spiral around the glistening melodies and punchy low frequencies. Resident DJ for LA party 900 Block and Fantastic Voyage artist, Seay offers up an enticing track entitled ‘We Could Be’ with alluring keys and compelling high-pitch vocals before Cool Contest affiliate and Noni and young cat Nasaneiru both throw down energetic groovers with soulful instrumentation and high-octane percussion. Slim Steve who has releases on labels like Let’s Play House and Cactus Traxx gives light to the acid fueled ‘Vibe’ with 303 synths, sweeping pads, and lively beats that oozes style. French artist and Hopera Records signee Hyas’ brings the tone down on ‘What’, for a breakbeat roller delightfully peppered with dreamy leads and hazy chords. Brazilian duo Albin & Nørus then round off this stunning compilation with a tranquil finisher entitled ‘Deep In My Soul’ with lulling pads riding underneath the tough breaky rhythms fused delightfully with playful melodies that evolve gracefully till the end

The fifth release on Mexico City/ LA based label Muy Muy Limited is a collaborative four track EP of shoegaze dance music by Argentinian artists DJs Pareja and Lupe. Made during quarantine by a chance encounter over instagram, this album was created in isolation by two parties who had never met, through an extensive online exchange of demos and ideas. The result is a masterful, warm and psychedelic EP that speaks to the depth of human connection.

The main theme was recorded by Dario Lessing on the organ at the Zionskirche in Berlin. Both the sound and the location of the recording really inspired me, and so I set out to build a track around it that sounded modern, yet respecting of the beauty of the historical instrument. We chose to name the track "All You Need Is Time" because we both really liked the concept of time healing wounds, and everything being able to recover to it's normal state, if one is patient enough to work through it.
