GREAT AMERICAN DREAM

A song about a cross eyed horse, which also manages to be about banks, lawns, umbrellas, cartoons, deception and stupidity! A country/blues ramble that jumps fences and crosses the line of craziness!

CROSS EYED HORSE

A powerful, emotional song/poem with an all time great band performance. Also taken from The Unstable Tables debut album Bank Job recorded live in a one day session!

WRONG TIME WRONG PLACE

Another crazy song only The Unstable Tables would write and record. It's about a man who can't remember whether or not he robbed a bank. He recalls certain details; men with stockings (but not on their legs) a bank manager whose last name sounds like a fish, a stolen car, a watch ma call it and a thingamajig? It's important to remember however this is a man who can't even remember whether he had guacamole and a cigarette! Not one of life's most easily forgettable combinations.

BLANK ROBBER

Unlike the surreal comedy track Blank Robber (see below) Midnight Train is about the memory of loss rather than the loss of memory. A dark, brooding song with scorching guitar work from Ian Briedis, a deep, melodic bass line from Kurt Curtis, and authentic blues train percussion from Declan Stewart put this high in the ranking for all time great Unstable Tables songs.

MIDNIGHT TRAIN

When it comes to dark humour the Unstable Tables are in a league all on their own. Like Midnight Train Doing Time is a song of loss but sung through gritted teeth and with a sly nod at the world around with it's 'edited wars' bands who reach for the stars but are 'stranded on the moon' and Billy and Rita, their first date gratis the dating agency 'Lonely Hearts Club' (band).

DOING TIME

A road movie/song with a difference. This is the journey back after going out on the road. A warm and melancholic song with beautiful harmonies by Ian Briedis and Declan Stewart.

SOME OTHER PLACE

A track from The Unstable Tables most recent album Twilight Zone. Inspired by the imfamous lover of old Giacomo Casanova, this song rollicks and rolls, part ska, part pop/rock it features superb classical keyboard playing by the legendary Nick Gladdish; part Bach, part Mozart. Arpeggio Ska!
