"As we move towards winter, Unstrung moves forward with a brilliant piece of minimalist electronica from German producer Hajoso entitled, Lamute. Everything in the track serves a purpose and blends with the other instruments, creating a lot of sound out of a little input. The melodic progression is encapsulated by a rhythm section that remains steadfastly techno in nature. The track is also complimented by 2 remixes.

The first comes from Dutch producer and Boss of Aftertech Records, Frezel. His take on the track revolves around the bassline, which he manipulates into a more threatening sound and evolves the track into an almost progressive house realm. A completely different interpretation from what follows.

Unstrung's Loui Cleghorn provides a calmer remix to finish off proceedings, which stays true to the original in terms of the input. However, a medley of percussion and vocals are sprinkled over the original melodies to provide a more complex, deeper version of the original."

Unstrung returns with a single from label head Loui Cleghorn, a transient, melodic acid song called
'Leaving View'. The track is inspired by continuously moving landscapes and environments which
are symbolised by shifting acid bass lines and synths expanding, compressing and moving
between reverberated percussion. The remix for this release comes from a fast rising producer
we've been wanting to add to the roster for a while.
Acutek has accomplished a lot in the short space of time he has been producing and DJing from a
base in the Highlands of Scotland. He has racked up a number of releases on imprints such as
Gibbon, Unknown Territory and hit #1 on the Beatport hard techno charts with an EP on Biotech
Recordings. His take on the track is situated in a more modern techno world. Maintaining the acid
lines from the original, here we have a more driving bass and atonal progression to give a much
meaner, less mysterious vibe to the EP.

"After his debut release 'Astral' with us last year, Chunk returns to Unstrung with his 1st full EP '4AM'.
This is a collection of tracks that is purpose built for it's given title; big sounds and late night, after hours vibes. The bookend tracks 4am and Hidden Door are what we've come to expect from the Edinburgh native: no frills, 4x4 house music that lets the big synths and mysterious melodies do the talking.
Sandwiched between them is Way out which introduces some breakbeats and more minimal percussion into the release, giving us a move shifty rhythm section and introducing a break in the waves for the EP as a whole."

"Unstrung returns with a 4 track EP from label boss Loui Cleghorn. 'Auto-Solve' is a collection of tracks of varying moods and vibes that have been in the works for a while and is a quintessential example of the characteristics of the label as a whole; vibrant, energetic and above all, different. 

This release sees the Glasgow melody-maker incorporate more natural instruments, such as flutes, pan pipes and ambient sound into an already intricate array of synths and beats. It's a break from our usual fare in some respects, with less emphasis on repetitive movement and more on classical melody shifts and structures.

The bookend tracks of the release, Depth Perception and the eponymous Auto-Solve, are the ones that exist in a purely electronic realm. The story of the track, as is customary with Unstrung, is captured in the movement and automation of the synths that drive it. In the middle of the EP, there is a break from this idea with more organic sounds and melodic narrative taking over, giving a natural balance to the release as a whole."
