Welcome to the Midgar Records takeover. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Berlin-based label will be taking over the 909 mix series for the duration of September with a mix running each week from a label affiliate with a full lowdown on the label to accompany the final edition.

Next up is Berlin-via-London DJ and producer Keplrr who released on Midgar Records recently with the glorious 'Plumes' EP featuring a remix from Priori. He's also previously released on Control Freak Recordings and Pressure Dome where he has become known for more forward-thinking broken techno music. In his contribution to the series, Keplrr digs into wriggly, groove-filled soundscapes, creating a perfect early morning or afters soundtrack as it glows throughout. A mixture of head down moments and trippy euphoria.

Synthbiont & Anassimandrus (@synthbiontanassimandrus)  is the ambient/experimental project born at the end of 2018 by the collaboration between Nicolò Faggiani and Tommaso Gobbo. Their musical background comes from different musical experiences as DJs, vinyl collectors, and Electronic Music Culture (@electronicmusicculture303) podcast series founders. Making converge their love for electronic sounds, field recording, and meditative experiences, Nicolò (@nic_faggiani) and Tommaso (@tommasogobbo) shaped Synthbiont & Anassimandrus project around researching the deepest ambient atmospheres.  The core idea is to create musical journeys in which the listener can enjoy an immersive and emotional experience in a unique soundscape. Recently releasing their first album on Secuencias Temporales, they also performed in several events and festivals such as Ozora, MoDem k, and Paradigm Festival.

What a perfect way to drift into autumn this year, by welcoming Inbuilt Obsolescence to Bloom Loops for our end of September edition, with a specially composed and recorded 1hr live performance. 

IO is the long term musical project and brain child of duo Owain Arthur and David Kemp, who have most recently been hosting a monthly live guest series (Cosmic Render) at London's Next Door Records. 

Plug in to be taken on a deeply emotive and heartfelt hour long journey, that ebbs and flows across psychedelic, still and propulsive musical landscapes. 

In their own words: "Inspired by that feeling of post-summer nostalgia, we wanted to make something which brought across the feeling of searching through memories and realising something new on this journey."

Recorded with an array of instruments into Ableton, in the living room and mastered in the studio.

For the 12th installment of Archives, we're delighted bring you Ario's absolutely transcendent set from the second night of Moment this year.
As the head of Astral Industries, Ario is perhaps best known for his impeccable curation of category-defying music that straddles cosmic ambient, deep techno, sounds from future civilizations, and songs pulled straight from the void. For this year's Moment, we asked Ario draw from the more dancey and deep regions of his musical interests - and the set he delivered took the audience on an unforgettable trip!
Starting from the late afternoon, Ario's mix gets right down to business, building up layer upon layer of minimal, hypnotic cuts that propelled us into the night. As the sun set and the lazer displays began to materialize in the forest, Ario started to unfold the upper-dimensional structure he had been patiently sculpting behind the decks: a monument of deep psychedelic grooves and acid-drenched bangers towering above the dancefloor like a message from beyond. In the very last days of the year 2020, we are bringing a mix by Garçon. A co-founder of Amenthia Recordings and a Basel Elysia club’s resident, who is notoriously known for his extended performances on the most sought-after techno festivals such as Parallel or Organik (to be found on @garcon profile), in which he shows not only his wide record collection, but most of all an elaborate web of synapses between them. 

Although this home-recorded DJ set is ‘only’ one hour long and doesn’t allow to go as deep as in the previously mentioned mixes, somehow it reflects and summarizes this year’s hard period of many of us being locked-down in one place and mentally imprisoned.
