Coming in for a next one to be released via Upon.You Records we've got a fresh collaboration going on which sees two long standing and beloved figures of the German scene joining forces to cook up some dancefloor goodness for post-pandemic times. We're talking Kotelett & Sascha Cawa here who are presenting their conjunctional label debut that is „Akemie" with two original tracks and a dubbed out retake of the title cut.

With „Akemie" we see Kotelett & Sascha Cawa provide a deep and highly fascinating dancefloor banger, pairing a precisely sculpted TechHouse foundation with a well hypnotic, slightly modulated main motif accompanied by an evergrowing stack of intertwined, corresponding synth layers leading towards the most angelic widescreen panorama breakdown you'll experience on a large scale P.A. system this year.

Subsequently „Takeshi" is shifting gears and enters full throttle mode whilst the prolific duo navigates a brooding, well futuristic sonic realm, firing up dancefloors with a clean cut, more muscular and surely spine-tingling, Techno-leaning sound vision balancing the thin line between a looming apocalypse and an oncoming salvation, perfectly represented by the tunes glistening melodies.

Finally, the title track makes a second appearance in its so-called „Akemie *Dub" version, providing an even deeper and slightly moodier variation for extended (Neo)Trance-oriented after hours sets and open air sunrise sessions under immaculate skies for a closing.

On our radar for some time, Berlin outfit Eins Tiefer eventually join the fold with their 7th EP for Upon You, 'Bear Market'.

Exponents of a sound that merges an enthralling sense of melodic escapism with spontaneous floor combustion, the pair has us surfing raucous sine waves and untamed envelopes with sustained panache and invention throughout.

The epitome of heavy-duty techno-house, 'Bearflag' packs an undeniably brutalistic, steel-clad punch whilst retaining that touch of weirdo funk / eerie body music swagger that shall get crowds quivering in an otherworldly sense of ecstasy.

'Seriously' pursues a further clinical and stealthy route, treating us to a hot spring of face-melting machine howl and elastic bass bounce, sure to trigger off maximum response from its raving audience. Handed over to Daniel Trabold, the track trades its churning rhythmic assets for a straightforward train-like chug, boiling up to further impressive, epic amplitude. Wrapping up this much dynamic jaunt into Eins Tiefer's ever mischievous headspace,

'Tunewalk' rolls its hips to a finely engineered mix of Afro-laced sensuality, piano house tropes and opaque hardware hoodoo, altering them beyond recognition to paint a pulsating tableau in motion that shall not feel out of place either in a peak-time setting, nor when the after kicks in and the blur in your eyes expands into your soul.

Peppering your summer with some heatwave-ready delicacies all set at melting your decks and woofers, here comes Kater Blau and Sisyphos affiliate vibist Benjamin Knows, a name who's been making waves in and around the big city and shall continue spreading around with viral impact. Championing a bountifully textured yet laser-precise strain of dub house, 'I Go (Crazy)' is proper incendiary material for the long, hot nights of boogie ahead of us. Drenched in heavily- processed layers of FX and playful tape-echo gone wild, Benjamin's debut incursion on UY flexes the kind of low-slung, elastic bounce, chopped-up vox slivers and bass-borne churn that promises to get dancers wading in an ocean floor of sweat. Rolling up his sleeves on remix duty, label co-head Marco Resmann dishes out his own irresistibly infectious take on the track, fleshing it out with a further syncopated swing, hi-octane punch and crisper-than-crisp drum programming, all coated with a thick gravy of machine filtering for good measure. For our next instalment, Upon You co-founder Marco Resmann teams up with up-and-coming Jordanian outfit, Fairplay. Having previously released on the likes of Stil vor Talent and BAR 25, the duo makes its first incursion on the label with a steam-powered jazztronics roller that conjures up the finest elements of loungey bop and dubbed-out techno. Bearing the clear aesthetic stamp of both Resmann's inch-perfectly engineered blend of deep, immersive ambience and bespoke groove, as much as it showcases Fairplay's ever-soulful strain of polyamorous rhythms and motifs -- tapping into cutting-edge house music potentialities, pure Cotton Club vibes and Arabic folk in equal measure, 'Like It Is' is hybrid boogie at its most instrumentally lush and captivatingly cinematic. Draped in a film noir kind of atmosphere where the ghosts of Bogart and Bacall would obviously not feel out of place, the track has us swirling and jiving to a sensuously metronomic swing, languidly elevating from behind thick curtains of cigarette smoke and volutes of body heat emanations, as a solid bassy groove summons all dancers to the dance-floor imminently. Tweaking the original into a vocal disco churner, Fuad and Marco treat us to a blazing mini Moog-operated workout, stressing on the track's floor-ready potential and its Sino-flavoured strings' uplift. Moving at train-like rate, this one is the epitome of a transporting number, clearly designed to have you crossing dimensions with every bar and losing yourself across its labyrinthine puzzle of heavily filtered and tape echo'ed machine funk.

sounds, and now with its first full-length compilation, the label offers a succinct overview for both followers and 
newcomers. 
Upon You Diary No. 1 has been compiled by Marco Resmann (half of Luna City Express) and is split into two 
parts: the first features 13 new, exclusive tracks from the label’s roster including The Cheapers, Re-UP, ONNO 
and Mathias Mesteño. The second part, showcasing Resmann’s dynamic DJ ability, is meticulously stitched 
together using elements of 25 tracks from Upon You’s back catalog, including contributions by Holger Zilske, 
Catz ‘n Dogz, Mathias Kaden, Luna City Express and many other respected names. 
On the surface, the artists on Diary No. 1 clearly follow the tradition of techno and house music, but it’s clear 
that many of them use these forms as merely a starting point for further auditory exploration. From tropical acid 
and tribal grooves to somber dub and hypnotic minimal, it’s clear that Upon You doesn’t hold any purist 
attitudes, and in fact, cross-pollination is encouraged: check Channel X’s be-bop hoedown “Rodeo” and the 
laid-back blue-eyed funk of “Together” by Marek Hemmann. 
Diary serves as both an up-to-date survey of Upon You in 2010 as well as a reflection on its origins, with the 
knowledge that there are many blank pages to be filled out as we push forward into the future of dance music. 
The compilation is available as an elegantly packaged 2xCD set and as a digital download.

08 Marek Hemmann - Together feat Fabian Reichelt

Making a return to the Upon.You Records-camp after his 2017 EP "Push" is Stockholm's Kristian Heikkilä, who's been busy on the production circuit since 2008 with acclaimed releases on AFULab, AcidWorx, Gynoid Audio, Naked Lunch and others. Catering four brand new production efforts from his sound lab he's making an impact again with new "Interpol EP" this fall.

The title track "Interpol" brings forth an ultimate take on rave-driven darkness with a hefty punch and a brooding, overwhelming bassline from hell that proves to be a dangerous weapon for underground warehouse parties and humungous venues with high powered P.A. without any limitations. A killer cut in its own right that defo isn't out and about to show any form of mercy for a dancefloor going wild.

Examining the "Future Past" Mr. Kristian Heikkilä causes havoc with a distinct, masterly crafted ClubTechno tune that is as clean and futuristic as Techno can be, serving a slightly dubbed out stab motif and busy single note synths alongside a pumping, mechanical low end for additional punch and power.

Whilst exploring the "Kaukasus" region we see the Swedish producer stumbling about a seductive, bass-heavy TechHouse groove and crystalline, glockenspiel-resembling synth notes in combination with enchanting, levitating pads and lively background arrangements for a positive and uplifting note on the dancefloor.  

Finally the "Toilet Romantik" introduced by Kristian Heikkilä is something for the darkest hours on the dancefloor, providing an spiralling maelstrom of reverberating sounds and climaxing synths alongside seductive, spine-tingling vocals from another dimension and danger inducing atmospheres that could surely make up for an intense score of a sci-fi or horror flic from the past. Massive.

Kristian Heikkila - Interpol

Passion has always been one of Marcus Meinhardt's favourite subjects. He has managed to secure the singer Fabian Reichelt for his latest release on Upon You, Fabian has  intertwined the theme of Eros and Thanatos delicately within the beats. Fabian is known for his collaboration with Marek Hemmann, who recently produced his album with him. „Better Not“ is a typical Meinhardt styled club track that has been sweetened by Fabian’s voice giving it a certain Pop-appeal and funkyness that is sure to get the hearts pumping faster on the dancefloors. His producer partner Andreas Henneberg adds his more cantankerous style to this track with his The Glitz remix on the flipside firing the whole thing up with some strategically placed strings.

It is the year 2007.

Electronic music is more popular than ever, especially TechHouse is on a thriving uprise and Berlin already became the buzzing nightlife capital of the world it is known as today.

Amidst all these creative and musical vibes a new label is born -  Upon.You Records. Founded in February 2007 by DJ & producer Marco Resmann, with a first release under his moniker Phage on Martin Landsky's Intim Recordings as well as great success as one half of the infamous project Luna City Express under his belt, and electronic music veteran Hawks Grunert, formerly involved in running Timing Recordings with Tanith as well as working for legendary „Frontpage“ magazine, Upon.You Records was already widely recognized for its first release, Phage's „Vut & Vat EP“, and started to drive on the fast lane immediately.

Originally intended to be a platform for music from an inner circle of friends as well as for aspiring young talent it didn't take long until the label branched out in 2008 with first international signings,  various label tours all over the place and a first label compilation.

In 2009, after receiving massive support from nightlife heavyweights like Steve Bug, Brothers Vibe, Someone Else and many more, a cover story in German electronic music magazine GROOVE and with a catalogue of roughly twenty 12“ releases Upon.You launched two subdivisions - Upon.You Digital and the momentary Upon.You Sweet & Sour Series – and established a booking agency as well as regular label events at two of Berlin's most praised venues, Watergate Club and the infamous Panoramabar.

Furthermore Upon.You Records teamed up with Workaholics Berlin for the launch of a merchandising line in 2009, introducing the labels unique visual image to the world of street fashion.

With the launch of the annual label retro- / futurespective „Upon.You Diary“ and an expanded core artist family now including Marco Resmann, Martin Landsky, ONNO, Ruede Hagelstein, Gunnar Stiller, Magit Cacoon and The Cheapers alongside many others, 2010 finally paved the way for success and fruitful growth to come in consecutive years in which Upon.You became one of the leading labels in all things TechHouse and related.

And it was even the first issue „Upon.You Diary“ that awed the electronic world with Marco Resmann's widely praised tune „This Song“, immediately ruling every dancefloor after it was released and drawing even more attenttion towards the Berlin-based label which continued to expand its growing international network whilst signing releases by Quenum, Kink or the UK-based longtime ambassador Steve Lawler.

On a jam-packed schedule of about twenty releases per year lately, including Ruede Hagelstein's Beatport smash „Minus“, with label artists touring the globe frequently and armed with the brand new, 2014-launched UYX subdivision focusing on raw TechHouse and classic stamped whitelabel aesthetics, Upon.You has grown into a major force on the international electronic music circuit.

Always on the lookout for new talent and keen to explore new territories, the future looks brighter than ever for Upon.You after entering the longplay circuit with the widely acknowledged album debut of the former Tel Aviv- and now Berlin-based DJ / producer Magit Cacoon, another successful instalment of the „Upon.You Diary“-series and finally entering three digit realms with the release of Marco Resmann's extrordinary gold vinyl 12“  „100“ - the onehundredth Upon.You single release in the label history which was released in late 2015.

And things surely are about to be busier than ever for all members of the Upon.You camp over the course of 2016, celebrating the labels 8th anniversary with a dedicated series of label events all over Europe and special showcases at Sonar / Barcelona as well as ADE and, of course, a string of high quality releases for maximum dancefloor pleasure throughout this season and beyond.
