UNDENIABLE  Feat. 7 Set - THE MURAL

In some ways, Suave’s “Hard Grind,” his recently released single featuring fellow NOLA native Melaphyre, is both an ode to New Orleans’ historic musical contributions and an indictment of a social and political climate that has made the city increasingly difficult to navigate as a professional artist. Like many of the nation’s rapidly gentrifying urban centers, The Big Easy is in danger of losing core elements of its magnetic and enchanting culture thanks to low wages, high costs of living, and new codes that penalize culture bearers for disturbing the city’s growing population of affluent transplants. This song paints a compelling picture of how post-Katrina challenges continue to threaten the very survival of those whose life’s work is to uplift and inspire their communities through art and calls on the art community at large to unite in order to combat this growing trend.
Hard Grind will be featured on Suave’s upcoming album, CRTN: Collaboration Rules The Nation, dropping Spring/ Summer 2016 - K.C.

Uppanotch created "Uppademics" (www.uppademics.org) a not for profit that teaches high school and college students how to balance their academic goals with their artistic passions. They will be releasing an Uppademics musical project entitled "Uppademics" on June 23rd of 2012.

Poverty

Danon and Hosannah combine science with sociology to bring the caliber of hip hop UPPANOTCH. Danon is a Queens native with a sharp tongue capable of decimating a speaker. You can feel his life experience in his rhymes, and he’s gifted in everything from the art of story telling to straight lyrical spitfire: "could take six bars, make it an anthem- F the SOURCE I want my face on the moon, like Ralph Kramden- these ain’t delusions of grandeur- hat tilted like black panthers, the flow is chemotherapy- guess the beat is the cancer." Hosannah was born in England , and moved to New York in ’83. Raised by hip hop, the kid is slick with the gift. The word play is ridiculous- pay attention, or you could miss something! Hosannah finds a way to hold the track hostage- he’d rather surround it than be on top of it: "Link subjects through rough text- pen a curse on a scroll and have the verse plaguing listeners I provide the spirit through words that grasps parishioners and make em give ten percent of they folds to buy innocence..." A lawyer and and engineer, Danon and Hosannah invoke their respective histories into their music.  Their 1st album, entitled: "NO GREATER LOVE" released in 2006 on Mindbenda Recordings was considered a gem by many. Their second album, "11" released independently in 2011 is heralded for its pure musicality. Uppanotch most recently appears on DJ Bazooka Joe's "The Slang Parade". Business minded and wishing  to push social change, Uppanotch created "Uppademics" (www.uppademics.org) a not for profit that teaches high school and college students how to balance their academic goals with their artistic passions.
