To contribute something to the series I recorded a few warmup‘s that I played recently in clubs. I chose the one recorded at my residency club in Cologne - Gewölbe. Beginning with Ambient, building up with Trance and House ending with some 4-to-the-floor tracks. Normally I’m recording mixes with a prepared selection at home, for this one I decided to take a club recording as mixing in clubs is more a spontaneous and energetic thing in comparison to mixing at home. Only Vinyl, like always.

I loved Jungle and DnB since I was a teenager. After a long journey through House and Techno I had a surprising b2b set with the godfather of DnB - Sir Goldie, about 8-9 years ago. We almost didn't played any electronic music that night, but the meeting inspired me to start digging bass music again. As I’m expected to play house and techno on my shows - with such and open format as Upperberry. I saw the chance to show my other passion. There is no deep philosophy behind this mix, just music I dance to, sometimes with hands in the air, sometimes eyes closed.

Bringing galactic sounds - a journey told in multiple parts. This mix revisits moments in time from the past years, a time of musical (re?-)discovery for me. Starting from scratch again, I asked myself: what do I feel? The photo on the artwork is of a place I very often go to reflect. I’ve been through many phases in this place, the energy of that place has shaped this mix. Peace and chaos. I built the mix in sections. The introduction is a live piece, created with my modular system. From there, it flows into dynamic, organic sounds. This mix is meant as a listening experience, not something made with the dance floor in mind.

The mix is crafted with an awareness of the passage of time in a beautiful forest filled with vibrant greenery. Musically, while maintaining my signature sound, I incorporated tracks with a more progressive touch—ones I don’t usually play—to bring a sense of freshness to the set.

There’s something about the unpredictability, the raw edges, that makes things feel more real. Especially in music, that’s what draws me in. So when Upperberry reached out, it felt like the right moment to gather tracks that carry that same imperfect energy and to explore my own path through sound, drifting from dub into house. Lately, I’ve been reflecting on why I chose electronic music—especially coming from a background in flamenco guitar. For a while, I kept asking myself, What exactly is techno? But I’ve come to see that this question leads away from the truth rather than toward it. Now I ask something simpler, more personal: Why am I drawn to this sound? Each track gives me small, wordless answers—fragments of what I’ve been feeling, seeing, thinking. It’s not about genre or how it might sound to others. It’s about translating lived experience into sound—unfiltered, emotional, and real, in a way that captures the emotional imprint of my recent life, moment by moment. Freedom has always been precious to me. I feel most free in the mountains—especially standing before the twin peaks of Ushba. That mountain means something very real to me. It took the life of my friend this year—a true Svan, a pure Georgian soul. I’ve never met anyone like him.The best Mountaineer, freerider and skier, a man of extraordinary dignity, someone who would open his home to anyone. He was one in a billion. This mix is more than music to me. It’s not a project or a product—it’s everything. A personal imprint of all I’ve been processing: grief, awe, beauty, and a longing for something beyond words. In that way, it’s not something I made. It’s something that revealed itself.

I made this mix to feel like you walking through the dense foliage of a Brazilian jungle. It starts grounded and slowly builds into club-driven territory balanced by interludes that offers space to reflect before the rhythm picks up again. Throughout the mix, I gathered the essence of my roots and sense of rhythm, bringing forward the richness of Brazilian percussion and grooves. I also tried to treat the transitions as clearings, detours, and deeper dives - sometimes leaning into ritualistic sounds, other times drifting into minimal cuts. The idea was to blur the boundaries between tradition and sound, keeping the rhythm as the guiding force.

This mix really reflects the era when I was deep into partying. Going out to places in Berlin like Polar TV, WMF and Sternradio Afterhour in the first years after the turn of the Millennium. I’m still amazed by the ideas and incredible productions from back then. Techno in that period was definitely driven by a much more emotional sound, probably a reason why the pills kicked in a bit better. It wasn’t an easy task to find all my old favorites, mainly because I only knew a few of the track titles and could only remember the melodies of most of them. So I definitely poured a lot of time and passion into this mix. A few times while I was recording I got serious goosebumps, it felt like I was time traveling. I’m really happy that I finally managed to finish it, I hope you enjoy it!

On a cold and hazy winter night, walking along a dark deserted street, I was overcome by an uncomfortable yet strangely familiar feeling - paralysed by a sense of anxious foreboding, I suddenly was blinded by a brilliant light above and against my own comprehensive faculty was stretched into the sky, the accelerating velocity ejecting my body and mind out of Earth’s stratosphere. Subsequently, I was tossed far into the depth of our solar system - its vast space, distant planets and rocky asteroid belts - and down into the abyss of my subconscious mind.

This mix was recorded at Institut für Zukunft in Leipzig, where we played a four hour opening set. We made some small edits and added some tracks to finalise the mix. There is a magic about playing opening sets, and this night was special in particular — the lights got turned off and we played our first ambient track as a tuft of smoke was blown into club, which remained midair in the middle of the dance floor, like a sculpture — and it slowly vanished. The first guest came in and sat down against the concrete column, listening attentively as more smoke-sculptures formed around him. We were happy to play the first 20 minutes just for him.
