I do not want posts about pro or con… just what was on my heart at that time in my life! Was( am) feeling a lot of things at then (this) time… it’s just thoughts put to action! Inspired by Los Jaivas… expat Chilean band that moved to Paris, France during the Allende regime… I lived in Santiago, Chile from 11-13…beautiful country, beautiful people! … just moving this back from my K2 and the Four page! My favorite album by Los Jaivas is @ Aconcagua, circa 1982! Hope you dig this ( again, ha!)😎

This song began with Ken and Joseph liking each other’s music. Ken invited Joseph to collaborate. He provided such a wonderful song, that maybe sounds better without drums, but we totally dig this version, as well! Ken asked Stephen to add something special, and for a fantastic third party mix down and master! This is the first collaboration with a couple of the Eclectic Collective collaborators.. we hope you all enjoy it!!

A song I wrote in 2020, the best year ever, ha! I was thinking about temporary reality vs. eternity …thinking about judgement vs. forgiveness… thinking about right and wrong, thinking about being born again vs, being dead to the things of God … thinking about what awaits us all! … thinking about toeing the line in the status quo,vs. trusting and living in a liberated fashion! It’s the Good news in a concise lyric.. Jesus Christ, savior.., Jesus Christ, Lord!!.., one must understand the @ bad news, before they can grasp the @ good news! … feel free to disagree… I am not the best @ follower, but I do follow!!! Acts 4:12 states it bluntly, but eloquently!!!  I have no @ sympathy for the devil!🙏🙏🙏 Romans 9 is also a good one!!!

So!!!.., Stephen ( Tex Mex Shaman) recorded all the music for this classic Christmas song, with his friend, MJ-Brewer on bass guitar… I added my best @ Miley Cyrus sounding vocals! It’s an @ Open Collaboration, so even a caveman can record anything over it, ha!!!Merry Christmas, 2024!!! Hope everyone had a fine year!!! Looking forward to the year, 2025!! Can you believe it?? Still here, ha! My mom thinks it’s too @ rocky, ha! I said, mooooom, seriously???🤣🤣🤣.. it’s like a Chuck Berry blues jazz!! Not too rocky! This is a song from 2021… My former bassist, John Taminski, challenged me to write lyrics about our band’s trip to Paris, France in 1996.., I wrote about our first tumultuous night.. I broke up with my then girlfriend, had to change rooms to stay with John , who fell asleep with a bottle of Heineken in his hand, in the Water Closet!🤣🤣🤣.., I thought he had died!..; just a travelogue of a fun, but also @ eventful trip! An older coworker, Mary, had been an Au paire, there in younger years.. her buddy Alex, from Belgium, they helped us navigate being @ the @ ugly Americans( I swear, we had only rock n Roll shoes… no white tennis shoes)!!!🤣🤣🤣😎 John’s nickname is Toe!!!😇

Well… Tez( Llanpsych) asked me for some @ The Clash type drums for his marvelous rendition of a Welsh folk tune, done up in a proper @ rocking fashion! I think his new drummer, Neil is singing! A song from my early twenties.. venting frustrations about the record biz, and live playing politics! Nothing Earth shattering.. just thoughts from a then @ young man! Recording artists and musicians are definitely not @ losers! Some money grubbers.. well .., they are!!! I think it was written in 1994!! Maybe 1995… memory is a bit hazy on this one, as I never got to record it with a proper band! Hope you all dig it! 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼 I apologize for the guitars., I used GarageBand, and strummed them on my IPhone, ha! Also.. they fit in on full band version… would be definitely more dynamic, if I played it live, on a real guitar!!!Ha!😇

This song began a few months ago as an idea Ken had to make the quintessential Gen X song. He structured the chords, beat to appeal to anyone of a certain age group, of which most of the folks in the band are a part. He even played wrote it on his acoustic guitar and came up with the vocal melody, which Gaz put a shine on for the final version. Once he had the form of the song down, he tapped the incredibly talented Joseph Shenton to write the lyrics. Gaz not only superbly sung four part harmonies for this, but the came up with the lyrics for the break parts, too. 
  When he first envisioned it, Ken thought it would be fun to invite as many musicians as we could onto it. However, for whatever reason, it stalled out and sat untouched for a couple months, with just Stephen's foundational guitar, Scotty's thrilling guitar intro, Terry's lush, low end synth, and Josh's bass to hold it down. Then, Ken had the great idea to invite Gaz to sing it for us. His awesome vocal track inspired us to heat up the kiln again, and put some real effort into bringing it to life. On that note, Josh redid his bass part to match Ken's rocking drums, as well as added the high, melodic synth you hear throughout. Tez came in last with the fiery guitar fills and solo, which you can hear throughout, as well. 
  Once it was all in the bag, we tapped Stephen to produce and mix it, which he did in his always pro manner. 
  This is the first collab Eclectic Collective has done with Gaz, but we all hope it won't be the last. He is one of the finest singers on the Cloud, and we're honored that he would sprinkle his magic on this song with us. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.
