Seven & Markee Ledge – Samurai Code
Tapping into ethereal forces that overrule any and all notions of shallowness within the realms of electronic bass music, Seven and Markee ledge combine forces to bring us a two piece release that shines in precision and tugs accurately at our heartstrings. A fitting soundtrack to a golden dynasty glowing in rich history and endowing a certain level of peace, each sound incorporated commands it’s own rightful place, and leaves space for our minds to create and impactful image fuelled by sound.
Title track ‘Samurai Code’ arches through warm plucks and swirling ambient gushes to weave a soundscape so balanced we find ourselves entranced, time has stopped, but the bass keeps moving. Subtle yet striking accents sit perfectly atop it’s vibrant base layer.
‘Rasta’ from Markee Ledge carries a similar undeniably irresistible recipe for tranquility and soothing sounds to forge a track that is easily playable on repeat with meditative effect. Combined with a solid classically dubby bassline and reassuring vocal, it is sure to become a hallmark inclusion to dub sets around the world.

After a small hiatus, Uprise Audio burst back into action with their next release ‘Parallel EP’ by Kyrist - one of the hottest properties in Drum And Bass right now. Kyrist marks her effortless transition to the 140 realm with four cutting edge tracks displaying a plethora of styles, technique and soul. The brilliance on display here showcases why she has made such an impact on the Drum And Bass scene, and signals for the world of Dubstep to take note and pay attention.

The EP kicks off with ‘Cry’ which as suggested in the title is tinged in emotion. Haunting melodic vocals are paired with an energetic palette of percussion and intelligent sound design riding the rhythm track concocting an array of sonic bliss. 

‘Chime’ begins with a much sharper intention and with a snare that you can feel in your chest. With a colder approach, the emotions are stripped back to allow the sub bass to resonate freely, giving space to growling mids and tense riser FX, summarised into a heavy tech step, space age feel.

The third track, ‘Gateway’, conjures beauty with space. Sticking to a tech stepping agenda laid down by the first two tracks, the intricate arrangement of mid-range sounds form a unique groove which carries the listener on a journey through intergalactic soundscapes.

The EP closes with ‘Solace’ which continues the cosmic journey we have have embarked upon. Jungle-esque break beats are navigated by forward thinking sound design elements, creating an ever shifting groove pattern within its detailed array of sounds. 

‘Parallel EP’ is a classy first outing from Kyrist in to the dubstep world and stylistically could not have landed on a more suited home than Uprise Audio. The release acts as a serious statement of intent from the label who burst back into the new year, reinvigorated to continue their ethos of developing new and exciting artists in to some of Dubsteps brightest talents.

Juss B returns to Uprise Audio to follow up
from his momentous album ‘Blow My Smoke’.
The tracks he’s letting off the leash are ‘Bussin’ and ‘Blow my smoke remix’ - recreated by one of dubstep leading artists, Bukez Finezt. Both tracks were crafted for the dance floor, laden with infectious leads, vocal swagger and signature bass lines. Torrey ‘Juss B’ Thomas show us his evolved production techniques this time round and displays a new cutting edge to his unmistakable sound.

Track 1.
The mesmerising intro of ‘Bussin’ builds up suspense with space station sounding atmospherics and haunting vocals. From the get go it commands the attention and takes you into a realm of low end rumble and savage deep bass lines, with killer hooks and melodies in between. Like the vocal says. This one busses shots!

Track 2.
When you listen to Juss B’s productions they are full of west coast flavour and vocal influence. ‘Blow my smoke’ epitomised that and put it on show when he dropped his debut album. The remix takes the original vibe to a new realm, transported in a 64 Chevy Coupe Deville on a road trip down south to Atlanta. Bukez Finezt’s incredible rendition makes you feel euphoria and sense of gentle calm, but at the same time wants to tear off your chest and make you stomp your feet wildly.

The illusive Indiji doesn’t release too much music, but when he does it’s with great effect. His signature sound is timeless and his music is featured in many sets long after release. Spring Tank and Mashup are both very much sought after and anticipated. So it’s a pleasure to finally get the nod from him to release these tracks to the public. So without further ado they are set for release and ready to rumble. 


Track 1. 
‘Spring tank’ is a militant dub influenced stepper. Heavy baselines lead the track forward and shake down the house where ever it’s played. It’s a no nonsense draw for weapon for a DJ who needs to step things up and take a crowd to the next level. Delayed vocals and fx round this one up as it displays that in this case less certainly is more. 

Track 2.
‘Mashup’ starts off like an old jungle tune and lends vocal samples from a cult classic British movie. It’s from the drop where this track takes on a new age shape. The Bassline twists and turns like no other, churning your gut and tearing of ya chest as it reverberates from bar to bar in true sound system fashion. The infectious hook and pads bring the musicality to what would other wise be full a sonic display of heavy stepping beats and bass.

Although this may be his first release on Uprise Audio, 11th Hour is no stranger to the team. In fact he has been a member of the crew since the conception of the label, helping out with his part in operations. Little did we know back then that one day he would turn out to be one of dubsteps most exciting up and coming artists. So we’ve selected two incredible tracks to kick things off and that show the world that he means business!

'Hyperspace’ begins with haunting tonal phrases, reverberating subtle nuances and instantaneously creates a thick atmospheric soundscape. The bass and drums rise out of the depths of the sullen undertones, worked into the groove in unison with deep wobbly bass. All of these elements combined capture the essence of being submerged into deep space, taking you on a 4 minute and 48 second journey into the dark depths of the unknown.

‘Bravo Zulu’ begins with ear worm melodics and a hypnotic rhythm track. It's an enchanting introduction, but as the driven bass line starts to slowly fade in you get a clearer view of the audible bigger picture unfolding. The drums are very straight, but elements of percussion add swing and character throughout, all equating to a romper stomper of a track, laden with 11th Hour’s fresh signature sound design and pieced together with precise arrangement.
