Born out of a lockdown night when their usual Saturday night plans were off limits, Defected regular Darius Syrossian and South Records boss George Smeddles decided to cook something up for the anticipated return to the club. With just a vocal to work with, they decided to produce something with the 90s, uplifting vibe dancefloors would be needing. Demonstrating the same addictive, dancefloor-ready grooves seen on their previous collabs like ‘Get Toast’ and ‘Blood Orange’, this latest joint venture once again delivers the heat. With its deep organ bassline, playful keys and irresistible 4/4 swing, this record oozes club appeal in a way you can only expect from producers rooted firmly in the scene. If debuts are anything to go by, the return Across Boundaries on Up The Stuss is a guaranteed treat. A collaborative project born out of mutual passion and understanding between two close friends, Chris Stussy and Locklead’s joint guise has taken the house landscape by storm, and the pair are only one release into their exciting journey. Merging signature sonics with future-focused ideas, the project takes cues from its name and sees the pair bridge genres and influences to deliver a raw and impactful take on house music - something on show here with their sophomore offering, ‘Synergy’.

Created to showcase a deeper side to their diverse sound palettes and a project for the duo to express themselves differently to their own solo sets and productions, the latest five-track EP contains a kaleidoscope of sounds and textures to soundtrack moments from sunrise to sunset and beyond.
