Female disco trio from Montreal, Canada.
They were made up of studio backing vocalists who decided to team up as a group in 1975.
They were the first bilingual disco act to break in the big time and comfortably sang in English and French.

With the cross-over potential of their self-titled debut in 1976, the act re-released the LP in 1977 with all the vocals re-recorded in English for the American market.

This move proved successful as the act had substantial hits with in the US.

As the disco fad peaked and waned, Toulouse split up in the early '80's.

On "Devotion", producer/singer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel David (The Pendletons) teams up with Jazz Mafia to bring a rich up-tempo offering. Building off of a hypnotic jazzy house piano and tapestry of congas and live percussion, Daniel soulfully paints a picture of connecting to spirit through one’s inner world. Jazz Mafia’s driving horns build throughout, propelling the track, with relief by an energetic drum breakdown and conga solo.

When Gusgus signed with 4ad in 1996 the plan was to release the debut album as it was released in iceland in the fall of 1995.  In the process of clearing samples Gusgus got a simple no for the sample used in the track Polyesterday.  Of to the studio and new version with total different approach was made.  Here is though the original version as it was released in iceland in 1995.
