Up Ya Archives returns with its second Fez The Kid single, “Cus It Feels Right” arriving ahead of his upcoming EP titled Body Mover out 11th July Via Up Ya Archives.

Following the momentum of the first single and title track “Body Mover”, “Cus It Feels Right” further cements Fez’s reputation as one of the most exciting new voices in drum and bass. Already a staple in the sets of heavyweights like Nia Archives, Fez’s signature sound fuses nostalgic jungle drums and beat patterns with his progressive UK-centric energy. His raw, hard-ware driven production brings grit, soul and undeniable character, a reflection of both his deep respect for the genre's foundation and his vision for the sound of his generation. 

Speaking on the release, Fez says:

“Cus it feels right starts on a more ambient tip, building energy through space and sporadically warping subs. 32 bars in, the energy grows with a catchy soulful vocal hook, before dropping into an even more emotional vocal lead that I find compliments the roughness of the amen break. Throughout the tune there’s a large focus on space and ‘leaving room to breathe’ with the ambition of generating a tighter and more confined musical space of energy. Cus It Feels right captures both Ragga sense with sound clash fx and tight breaks + subs, and emotive soul sequences that play upon each other to and fro.”

To celebrate the release of his forthcoming EP Body Mover, Fez has curated a special takeover for Up Ya Archives at Planet Wax on Friday 11th July, where he will be joined by the likes of Cheff The Boy, Joe Sierpinski, Tokio Station and Vxrgo.

The official home for everything new gen junglism, Up Ya Archives launched in May with his debut release from Nia and Bristol based newcomer Cheetah called “Get Loose” that had a hat trick of first plays with Jack Saunders “Hottest Record” on BBC Radio 1, DJ Target “Targo Embargo” on 1xtra and New Music Fix with Tom Ravenscroft on 6Music. The soca-inspired sunshine banger lush with whistles, carnival tinged percussion and heavy basslines featuring both went off all weekend at early May bank holiday parties, as they celebrated the release with a sold-out block party in Peckham and after party at Venue MOT. 

About Up Ya Archives

In 2021, Nia Archives threw her first ever UP YA ARCHIVES party in Manchester to a crowd of 200 people. One year later, she sold out 10,000 tickets to the UP YA ARCHIVES Warehouse Project takeover in the very same city that made her. The growth around Nia’s dancefloor takeover has been phenomenal. Inspired by the crowds at her early shows where she was playing to just a handful of ravers, predominantly women and POC, she’s continued to build this brand not only to centre those from marginalised backgrounds to feel safe and carefree in the clubs (see Bad Gyalz rave 2023), but also as a Northerner herself, a focus has always been ensuring the youth from those areas not deprived of the best events and parties, access to music and culture. Last year, she threw a Boiler Room in Nottingham that was for women only for Internation Women’s Day, the first of its kind with Charity Shop Sue hosting. Intentional in every move she makes, she’s always been someone to pay homage to those who inspired her before her, and thus she’s mirrored the same respect and intention in creating a platform from her success to help future generations of producers and artists making jungle and other underground electronic sounds. Launched in Spring 2025, Up Ya Archives is the official home for everything new-gen junglism. Exposing the best in 150-170bpm underground dance music from around the globe, jungle fans can expect music from both emerging and underground new signings plus established names who might have not yet been heard on those tempos. With 8-12 releases a year scheduled, you can expect to hear a lot more from UYA soon.

The next instalment from the Yamatai 2025 Catalogue is finally here and it is a special one....

We are over the moon to finally announce DKN's debut release on Yamatai 'Distorted Reality / Ritual' featuring legend in the game Stanza. Not only is this a debut from the Brighton based producer but it us also an official announcement of Deen becoming a core artist within the label.

This perfect debut brings 2 heavy club anthems already causing chaos across Europe and beyond, supported by some of the genres biggest names.

We first met Deen back in December 2020 when he featured on the Subtitles takeover at Studio 808, already fans we kicked it off and he spoke about his forthcoming album / projects and he showed them to us and we were blown away by the sheer quality this man possessed in the DAW. Roll on 4 years and that same album has been released and what a piece of work it is. It's funny how the world works, someone we used to look up to and only dream of getting tracks from is now releasing his debut single on the label.

If you enjoy gritty and heavyweight drums paired with unholy in you face basslines then DKN is your man. Tracks that have a style similar to the classic RAM Records days, we are honoured to be releasing a single that highlights this forgotten style that we love so dearly.
