Dat A Emcee rolling out with another cancelled work once again...I didn't finish this one back then because it didn't seem like it was anything special or worth finishing. I figured some people may enjoy it so why not share it. But to be honest, after hearing again, ideas started flowing to my head, so I MIGHT revisit this mix and build it from scratch again to be consistent with my musical progress since 2009. I hope you all enjoy this mellow groove!

Modern Habits (remix 2024)

like for most people playing through chrono trigger for the first time, reaching zeal was breathtaking.  its disconcerting ethos, and the wonder of a fantastical city suspended above the clouds, were perfectly captured by a rookie mitsuda in his seminal 1995 soundtrack.

in my mind, the island of zeal's vertical positioning with respect to the earthbound ones was/is an elegant metaphor for the social stratification present in trigger's era of antiquity.  i tried my best to draw upon that image in constructing this homage to a composer who has greatly influenced this small voice in a great sea of admirers.
