• What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

I dont "come" from a musical background, in my child hood music wasn't a very present aspect in my life and now it is what I dedicate my moments to. Sound is what interests me, the daily life sound, the sounds that hold invitations to deepen your moments, the sounds that make my inner and outer world move with curiosity, sounds for the deep listener. 

Opening Traktor for the first time in 2019 when in hospital with help from a dear beloved, I was made aware on such a deep level the ability of healing which comes from outworldy expresion through sound. From that point on the rabbit hole of wonder continues.

 

• What makes good "afterhour"?

A good afterhour for me are the moments of deep surrender, filled with Gratitude for the present. Being surrounded by and experiencing it with loving beings in softness, cheekiness and love. Lets pour some tea and listen to some melting ambient together, or lay in the sun listening to the wind in the trees, lets laugh and celebrate eachother. 

 • Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

I had the impulse to play the same track at the start and at the end, to hold the journey with the message of Love. This for me, is what I wish to convey in all my musical journeys. 

 
• What was your experience of the set you recorded?

Beate Uwe is one of my beloved home bases, so playing here is always a heart expansion. Watching the bodies flowing and moving on all different levels was and is such a joy, I was in awe at the beauty of it all. It is such an honour to play for you and to share this experience together. The last track moment has imprinted on me, an invitation into stillness it was beautiful to witness the embraces of self and others.

My set, which I played at the LUMINO event that took place a week ago in Saint-Petersburg, was the opening act for this enchanting night. The venue was filled with beautiful people and wonderful music. I had the honor of playing on the same stage as true downtempo masters and stars: @danielhokum, @zuma_dionys, @betelgeize, @djshinder and Laksmi.

Our next podcast is a special live set by the Paris-based musicians Nato & Sahalé.
Individually, they bring us to worlds of ethnic vocals, percussions and wonderfully tantalizing melodies  - each in their own special way. For the 23rd Urban Cosmonaut Radio podcast, they have combined their powers in a timeless live set that takes listeners on a gentle journey through mysterious lands of the oriental past. 

Inspired by their travels and diverse musical influences, this set is the symbiosis of computer scientist Nato and sound craftsman Sahalé. Their productions take their time in building up, releasing in vast spheres of melody, haunting voices and tribal rhythms. We close our eyes, letting them guide us to distant moons in different galaxies, knowing that with Nato & Sahalé, a kind of delicate beauty will engulf us if we trust them enough to follow them on a trip through cosmic portals of endless, profound music.

Es gibt so Momente im Leben, da möchte euer Käpt’n https://soundcloud.com/rolandson einfach nur seine 7 Sachen zusammenraffen und mehr als nur dem Horizont entgegensegeln. Der Welt und vor allem dem ganzen Trubel entfliehen und dem Fernweh nachgehen - endlich raus aus der Verantwortung und sich frei fühlen. Sicher, so als Käpt’n zu hoher See gehört die Freiheit und Weite der Meere schon dazu, aber so richtig frei ist keiner dabei. Es ist so ein inneres Verlangen, welches jede/ r von euch sicher kennt, die/ der schonmal den Kontinent verlassen hat, andere Länder bereist, sich auf fremde Menschen und Kulturen eingelassen hat. Eben dieses Gefühl versucht auch immer wieder der Seaside | Trip einzufangen und wiederzugeben. - Unser heutiger Gast an Bord, der junge Wildfang https://soundcloud.com/fruiterama wusste sofort was euren Käpt’n umtreibt und hat sich flux in seine Kajüte begeben und wundervolle Perlen des musikalischen Universums aneinandergereiht. Der schnittige und aufgeschlossen Hamburger Jung beschreibt es selbst so »Am Wasser sitzen, auf die Wellen schauen, dem Rauschen des Meeres lauschen und sich an ferne Orte jenseits des Horizontes träumen. Den Kopf voller Bilder von wunderschönen, interessanten Orten und das Herz voll bittersüßem Fernweh. Das ist das Thema meines Seaside | Trips. Deshalb habe ich bewusst Musik aus ganz unterschiedlichen Kulturen und Regionen ausgewählt. Ich möchte euch mitnehmen, nicht nur auf eine Überfahrt, sondern auf eine Reise über alle sieben Weltmeere.  - Fernweh ist ja nicht immer etwas Schlechtes, auch wenn der Name das vermuten lässt. Fernweh kann auch ein Ansporn sein, die eigene Komfortzone zu verlassen und sich in die Welt hinaus zu wagen. Also ist die Botschaft dieses Mixes auch: Habt keine Angst vor Neuem, vor Veränderung, vor Unbekanntem oder Fremdem. Seid mutig, seid entschlossen und lasst euch von eurem Herzen leiten. « Seine Worte allein sind schon ein kleines Träumchen und dazu noch sein Mix, da ist euer Käpt’n schon geneigt lächelnd zu sagen »Yau!«

Fruiterama selbst sieht sich ein wenig als Reisender in der Musik, immer auf der Suche nach neuen, unbekannten Sounds und Melodien. Es ist das vermeintlich Fremde, das ihn interessiert. Ungewöhnliche Harmonien und Rhythmen, gewagte Kombinationen von traditioneller Musik, organischen Sounds, tiefen, ruhigen Bässen, wilden Drums und modernen Klangelementen. Die Musik ist für ihn deshalb auch eine Möglichkeit, für eine vielfältige und offene Welt und Gesellschaft einzustehen und aufzuzeigen, dass verschiedene Kulturen einander bereichern können. In dieser globalen Klang- und Harmoniemischung hat er nun seine musikalische Heimat gefunden. Fruiterama ist »a man of the world«, wenn man so will und sein »wanderlust« Mix macht Spaß auf mehr Meer, auf mehr von ihm und mehr auf andere Länder.

Ohxalá is the musical project of a Portuguese duo: Maria & Luís. Maria works as a printing technician in a photo lab and Luís works as a website programmer moreover both devote much of their non-working hours to music and photography. From this dedicated and parallel passion started the will to make it alive somehow and, consequently,it had been growing faster particularly since the recent adventure of the duo in Germany in 2016. Such a journey is the starting point of this plot. On his return to the Portuguese lands, eager for information; an effervescent and inspiring will to investigate and absorb settled in the duo. They are in need of a call to go through other times, other peoples; which have completely overwhelmed them.
