The sun shines again in the Berlin sky and warms up our hearts, colors become vivid and the rhythms more vibrant. It is the right time to welcome Lui Mafuta (https://soundcloud.com/luimafuta) to our podcast series and to spread his seductive and enveloping sound into the warm breeze. 
Lui’s passion for music began in his adolescence when he started playing jazz drums alongside his father. He was greatly influenced by hip hop beats which formed the bedrock of his sound and early productions. 
However, the discovery of the so called ‘downtempo’ brought a remarkable change in his career as producer and introduced Lui to electronic music. The ease of the rhythms and the openness of the people crowding the scene helped him find a new form of expression, and shaped him to the brilliant producer that we know. Lui finds his inspiration in the energy of the crowd, and it´s his mission to return that energy in form of fresh sound. 
Lui finds enjoyment and motivation in the freedom that music production itself entails. The set he prepared for UCR was recorded live and consists exclusively of his own productions which are masterfully blended for us. We invite everyone - music lovers and attentive listeners, to experience that freedom too.

It's been a long time since we started this project and we met some fantastic people on our way. Nevertheless there are two boys who live half a continent away and are at the same time as close to us as they could possibly be. It's good to know that there are people around who share the same vision and Geju (@g-e-j-u) definetly work magic when it comes furthering the genre. Their history of countless performances around the globe in combination with them hosting captivating events in their hometown, they truly are two stellar figures in this movement. We couldn't be more happy to present to you their most recent piece of art..

About Stelzenläufer 
" Ahoy! I'm living at the baltic sea coast in germany and since my childhood i'm playing the saxophone in several live combos. But a decade ago I also fell in love with electronic music. I like it smooth, I like it slow, I like it driving and drifting. I love to spread my vibe daytime on music festivals, sharing storytelling dj sets and of course still love jammin the saxophone with soulfoul musicians. Once in a while I combine and make live saxophone Dj sets.
In 2018 Me and my friend lockige Ostsee (@Sattlord) founded the @Faultierdisko(sloth disco). We are a Dj team and we have a radio show in our home town Rostock. With the @Faultierdisko podcast series on Soundcloud we support artists and spread our slothdisco vibe. Give it a listen! "

Very pleased to share with you, this lush set that I played with my brother Dali Sana at When a Fire Starts to Burn w/ Warte:mal, Luana Schwengber & more
that was a fundraiser party we co-created, in order to collect money for Amazon Watch & Up2green who are two NGO's fighting to preserve and reforesting the rainforest in the Amazonas that currently are plagued with huge fires, because of human greed.
We managed to collect money to plant roughly 4.000 trees :D

Urban Cosmonaut Radio stands for a new kind of cosmic identity, that exists in the fusion of all sounds past and present, all things here, and there, and nowhere - transcending barriers of time, genre and locality. 
For those of us who feel the pull of other cultures, who are drawn to genre-bending soundscapes and are fascinated by indigenous sounds. UCR is a gateway. It’s a portal for this new generation of cosmopolitan cosmonauts - for the explorers of a globalized world, the travellers of a musicverse without borders. We are the listeners of a radio in the form of a cosmic spaceship, on a voyage through tropiglobal bass, past eclecticotronica fused with ethno techno, flying up, up, up high to cumbia loops, dropping deep down low to techno rhythms and wandering slowly through slothdisco tunes.
The pilots navigating the spaceship are producers and DJs from all over the globe, guiding the listener through their unique taste for sound in a podcast series of specially produced episodes, live shows and curated label releases.
Join us on this adventure through the universe, forever in search of unique music.
