Last week I had the pleasure of playing a little summer-Sunday set at our magical Bucht der Träumer* festival. Here comes a selection of some of the tracks I’ve played during the midday sun. ykkka [ˈjuːkkkɒ] always loved to fantasize and invent different worlds. He often drew them using neural networks.
He often imagined how he traveled through these worlds:

Imagine that you found yourself in a wonderful place, where the surface of the earth is like the bottom of a giant ocean, trees, grass and any other plants - like algae, and clouds in the sky - foam on the crest of a wave, and airplanes are actually boats that float on the surface of the ocean. There were very tall trees around, of bizarre shapes and colors, there was always a slightly muted sound here, and in the air absolutely everywhere there was quiet and a little melancholic, but beautiful music. This is the music that you are listening right now.

Among the trees, either swam or flew a giant whale named Sven. ykkka was friends with this whale, he gave him that name. They could communicate, and during the dialogue they looked not into each other’s eyes, but slightly to the side, as if using peripheral vision, silently, by the power of thought.

Sven often swam to ykkka’s house and looked into the window of his bedroom with his big eye with a slightly sad look. He told ykkka about his travels across the ocean, about what wonders he saw and what dangers he survived. ykkka listened to him with interest and admiration.

There was a large mysterious forest with very tall trees around, where mysterious but kind creatures lived. This place is called "Middle of Nowhere".

Here you could sometimes meet a very large black cat named Kroher, who had 4 eyes. Meeting him was a big luck, just few people saw Kroher. Not far away, you could often meet a dog Barca - very large and very kind, was friendly to everyone. This was a very kind and magical world, very calm and quiet.

El Batos is a DJ who was born on the dancefloor. With music in his heart and dance in his pulse, he picks you up where your higher consciousness begins to surf sound waves. His sound is creative, playful, melodic & hypnotic at the same time, with a rich depth. Deep basses meet warm pads, complex rhythms meet loving vocals. The aim is always to take you on a journey of sounds, emotions and endless moments, always with an ace up their sleeve and a surprise up their sleeve. 
 
El Batos is known above all for his loving downtempo sets & regularly plays at well-known festivals in Germany such as the Moyn or Fusion & clubs such as the Kater are now also on his list. Jorma organised his first small parties almost 10 years ago, has been working as a floor manager at festivals for years & has been organising a stage at New Healing since last year.  
He also likes to be active at conscious events & enjoys playing Ecstatic & Cacao Dances, helping with booking or the technical production of events.

"Dach ahoi" und entschleunigt-organisch nach vorn, so die Devise unseres neuen Podcasts, der uns von der zauberhaften "Lotte Ahoi" aus dem "Urban Cosmonaut Radio" Umfeld beschert wurde. Die Programmkuratorin von "Sloth Disco" sowie "Slow Motor" ist für ihren vielfältigen Sound bekannt, der sich nach eigenen Angaben als "Funkumbiafrorientropical" bezeichnen lässt – ein Zungenbrecher, den man sich erstmal auf selbiger zergehen lassen muss, bevor es ans Ohrenstreicheln geht. "Lotte Ahoi" ist mit diesem Podcast ein beachtenswerter Spagat zwischen elektronischem Downtempo, tropischer Rhythmik und kosmischen Trips gelungen, der beweist, dass musikalische Grenzen nur in unseren Köpfen existieren. Viel Spaß!

As music lovers, we all asked ourselves at least once what music is about. What is its function? How did it become such an important component of our lives? Maguera (https://soundcloud.com/maguera) questioned himself about it too, and he concluded that for him it is all about communication and profound emotions. This talented Italo-Danish composer, musician, and electronic producer believes that music is the strongest medium available to reach people, and he employed it to send out a call to self-reflection to our listeners and to himself. In fact, he told us of his thoughts about the decreasing ability of the people to feel empathy and how this is affecting our essence. This is the main theme of the splendid mix he recorded for UCR. His concern towards the rising narcissism and egomania, as well as his hope for an imminent change of direction, drove the artist in the recording of the mix. It’s possibly the duel between these controversial strong emotions that makes this mix so beautifully heterogeneous, with melancholic notes alternating with gleeful and dreamy moments. The set consists mostly of Maguera’s own productions played live, which the artist blended masterfully with others’ tracks, and it’s meant to stimulate our capability to travel through our thoughts and feelings about empathy. Despite his elusiveness and humbleness, Maguera has made great display of the communicative power of his sound and of his moral depth. We at UCR are delighted to share his set with our listeners and welcome his call to self-reflection.

Wir haben Chuchi und ihre einladenden, schmoofen Sets mehrmals live erlebt; beim HOPPLA! Festival, beim Tropen Tango oder bei unserem Schachtelhalmdisko Open-Air. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass sie mit einem tollen und sehr entspannt aufgebauten Mix in unserer Panama.Kanal Reihe dabei ist!

Chuchi ist Teil von Kollektiv Schöne Töne Frankfurt und Permakultur Schwanheimer Düne e.V. In ihrer noch jungen DJ Laufbahn hat sie zusammen mit ihrem Partner flipflop oder solo schon einige Festivals bespielt. Bevorzugt tagsüber lädt sie ihre Zuhörer*innen ein, ihren musikalischen Geschichten zu folgen. Ihre Reisen führen dabei von mystischer Folklorica über Medicine Songs und Hippiemusik bis hin zu alten Liedern, die Kindheitserinnerungen wach werden lassen und das Herz berühren.

Mit ihrem Mix Changes will Chuchi in diesen merkwürdigen Zeiten ein Zeichen setzen und den Menschen Inspiration geben: Die Atempause der Zivilisation auch zu nutzen sich auf die wirklich wichtigen Dinge zu besinnen. Den Zusammenhalt der Menschen zu stärken und ein besseres Leben im Einklang mit der Natur zu erschaffen. Die Gedanken formen die Wirklichkeit.
