This set is about freedom.
Freedom to live freely, 
Freedom to be who we are, 
Freedom to think and act in respect of Mother Earth and all living beings.

This set is dedicated to Kohana, a 20 years old female orca who recently died in captivity. She spent her whole life privated from her freedom to live in the Ocean, among her pod.

Through this musical journey, I set the intention of honoring Kohana, her being, her spirit, her courage to live in captivity for so long. I secretly hope she had experienced joy in her life and even if it was in an aquatic park, I’m sure she had moved a lot of people and planted seeds in people’s consciousness who saw her as who she really is : a magnificent creature of the seas, and not only there to serve human’s desires of being entertained. 

She is now FREE, swimming in the cosmic consciousness! 

During my whole creative process, while I was playing, while I was recording again the set (the first recording was totally saturated and unusable), and even now, while I’m writing these words, she is with me, giving me force and confidence.

I’m amused to think that while I was jumping on the decks, it was her jumping through me.

Therefore, in this musical journey I had to honor to share with you during O’Tawa - Okinawa, I explored various emotions (sadness and anger but also uplifting joy and peace) through different genres, mostly down/darktempo but also melodic techno, downpitched techno, psygressive and house. 

I want to thank all the incredible musicians who made this set happen. 
I have lots of respect for these producers who bring their art into the world and inspire us at every listen.

The artwork is made by me. I picture KoHana spirit, swimming peacefully and freely.

Thanks again O'Tawa for your invitation and thank you all for dancing and honoring Kohana with me.
It was for sure a dance for her and our energies combined to support all the orcas still in captivity to give them force, courage and feelings of joy.

Dark bass lines meet melancholic harmonies inspired by the calm of foggy walks by the ocean in the violet twilight, the presence of birds chirping, and wild but cathartic dreams. There is a playful softness and acknowledgement for the moment going on in this slow, slow set filled with beautiful emotions. No need to hurry, it’s all there already.

‘Open your mind, and the rest will follow’ are the words spoken by today’s guest for our listeners. As he is talented and creative, so he is humble and elusive. He is the anti-diva of the high-class djs: @djfogpuma
Those who listened to him more than once will remember his eclectic music selection spanning from New Wave to Krautrock across Funk, Voodoo Disco, and Balearic Industrial. Such a variety of finely selected tunes witnesses his high musical erudition resulting from over twenty years experience. It all begun in the narrow smokey bar where he used to hang out with friends back in the late ‘90s: the Blow Up, in Bonn. There Fog Puma started playing vinyls. Beat-matching and technical virtuosity were unimportant in that context. Nonetheless, the ‘wild mix of different genres’ he used to play there developed in the delicacy and finesse that we can now appreciate in the ambient mix he prepared for UCR. Each of his tunes has its own personality, at times a bipolarone. It’s oriental and it’s afro-beat, it’s jazz and it’s classical. It’s water and it’s wood. Fog Puma defined the mix as outernational fusion world music. At the end, no better words than his own can be spoken about his mix: ‘open your mind, and the rest will follow’.  
 
For a deep listening experience, Fog Puma and UCR recommend to listen with a sound-system or headphones that represent a wide range of frequencies.
