The Daisy

This summer I had a host of high profile UK & European Festivals and spent 3-4 weeks of solid studio time beforehand, tweaking and enhancing each & every track I played for maximum muscle. I re-edited and Revamped a total of 160 tracks during the process.

And then I went out and SMASHED it :)

Hope you enjoy this recording of my headline set from the wonderful Wickerman Festival in Scotland on a weekend where I also played Kendal Calling and Secret Garden Party before collapsing in a heap on Monday morning at 3am.

moments in time

I'd be lying if I said it was easy to play a sunsrise set at burning man... especially at robot heart.  I had to literally help pull an ancient cow statue down from the top of the heart two years ago to be sent to Germany.  It's like I had to do these ancient quests and other sunset sets to be put in the position to play this past burn, so i was not taking that lightly.  By sheer coincidence I found myself in Reno the night before this and drove straight from my set there to the middle of the desert to a gps location at 5:30 in the morning.  I prepared myself for the sunrise; I knew there would be some doubters, but that just made me work harder... oh and I was on acid.  I think it may have been the best dj set of my life so far ..

The world is getting smaller: music is changing. Highlife explores emergent music from around the globe focusing on small localised musical ghettos, cross-cultural collaborations and the so-called World Music 2.0.

Highlife is mixed by  Auntie Flo and features artists who have played Highlife since it launched in May 2010. These include Shackleton, Mim Suleiman, T Williams, Rebolledo and Capracara as well as some from artists who are booked to play in the future: Nicolas Jaar, Raoul K and DJs Pareja. It also features exclusive and unreleased tracks by Auntie Flo, Esa Williams aka Mervin Granger, Alejandro Paz and Bamboo Palace.
