Neena Brown is a musician from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was introduced to music at a young age while growing up in one of the most notorious hoods in Canada, the South Side of Jane Street.  
Neena Brown just had too much bottled inside that she had to let out. Music became her priority. She got tired of that oppression and loneliness. She had finally let her music be her light & companion.

Urban Renewal Project (URP radio/ URP) is a 2-hour syndicated diverse music program, broadcasting weekly every Tuesday from 10 PM to 12 AM EST from CFRO 100.5 FM in Vancouver, British Columbia. URP Radio is over 9-years on-air and about to reach its 1000th official main series broadcast! It is programmed and hosted by DJ Denise [she/her/their]. She curates up to date 2022 releases of music from Canadians across our beautiful country. In recent years, it has expanded beyond its rap origins, accepting of many realms of genres, searching and focusing on music by Canadian and independent artists, and of artists belonging to marginalized groups, such as the BIPOC, Indigenous and LGTBQ+ communities. To its current knowledge, the show now syndicates at 1 campus/UMFM 101.5 + CKUW 95.9 FM in Winnipeg, MB. URP Radio has been able to sustain itself through the COVID-19 pandemic with pre-recorded programs, and a short run of LIVE-AT-HOME broadcasts in the Fall 2021 season.
