Freehand [2023.06.12] He Goes He Goes

This was a set I created for Tropical's 16th anniversary campout in 2014 held at a yoga retreat center in California. Most of the weekend's music was house music, but there was a block of ambient-into-downtempo on Saturday morning. Starts off ambient and rises into danceable trip hop & downtempo.

The recording of my set had technical issues, so this is a recreation in my studio. Mastered by @EasternSun

I had the distinct honor of playing on a lineup with three good friends at Club Zanzibar one night back in 2008. This set was directly inspired by their presence, and features many tracks produced by friends and friends of friends. Through A Looking Glass

This is a live recording of a spontaneous DJ session one night when a dear friend had arrived at the house seeking comfort from a recently broken heart. The lights were low, tears were falling, and all I wanted to do was to soothe with music.

Heart's Desire

New Year's Day 2016, I was playing a morning set at Tropical Oasis, a weekend campout. It was somewhere around 34 degrees F and I was opening for one of my favorite artists, Bluetech. I was going for a dubby psychill sound. 

This is a live recording, and at the end, a momentary glitch with Bluetech's gear, due to the cold weather, meant I had to play a little longer than expected, so there's a gap between the last two tracks.
