Before the full installment of JAW’s collaborative project for Circus Company ‘MIDTOWN’, let us whet your appetites with an EP featuring a kaleidoscopic handful of teasers. Contributing artists such as Canadian renegades Art Department, Berlin DJ/producer and Bar25 Alumni Britta Arnold, Dirtybird kingpin Claude Vonstroke, Hamburg scene staple Philip Wolgast and The/Das Berlin based duo all lend their unique electronic footprints to the already unique and instantly recognisable voice and charisma of Jaw.

‘MIDTOWN’ is all about the ambitious sound of an artist reflecting every shade of the world as he sees it, through collaborations with friends from every corner of the planet and even bringing his family into the fold. From bedroom set­ups to street recordings to professional studios, spanning melancholic folk, electro pop and apocalyptic R&B, this collection is the culmination of years Jaw has spent connecting with like­minded artists, challenging himself to use his unmistakable voice in different ways and placing the emphasis on having fun, whether the music be dark and obtuse or upbeat and flamboyant. Whatever the case, twenty different recording spaces with twenty different textures have ensured that no two moments on Midtown feel the same. The full compilation can be expected to drop in September.

You may know JAW already, you may not. An artist who has sung into the hearts of dancefloors the world over, Jaw is probably most known for his electric performances as the frontman of French house wildcards dOP and their indie­pop side­project Les Fils du Calvaire. Alongside this he has guested on massive tracks such as crossover hit ‘No Eyes’ by Claptone, Para One’s ‘When The Night’ and Claude VonStroke’s ‘Le Fantôme’, not to mention regular work with his immediate musical family in the Circus Company collective. As if he wasn’t already working with enough artists, Midtown now proves that Jaw’s muse is a spirit that just won’t quit until every corner of the world is touched by his honey­coated voice.

PREMIERE : Himbrecht - Anything Else (Sam Goku & Quatri 'God Of Nature' Remix) [Nie Wieder Schlafen]

Anyone up for a wildlife breakdown? Well that's what André Kraml has delivered here, in the middle of a fairly cheeky original version.  The 4 tracks have been recorded with friends in his living room in Cologne and under protest of his neighbourhood. They show a big spectrum of his work, from the accordeon to the guitar, from his own bassline to the voice recording, here everything which is home-made and sounds good is being worked up.

In the year 2002, Gusgus was touring the states with the new lineup and album Attention.  One of the tracks in the set was though a cover of old Human League track called "Things that dreams are made of".  Not shure if we have any live recordings of it but here is the lave backup version we did in case of equipment breakdown.

Mexico is currently in phase 3 of its emergency plan against the novel coronavirus, coinciding with the worst period of the epidemic. The social distress has challenged the Mexican economy, shrinking significantly over the past months, hitting the most vulnerable citizens living in extreme poverty the most.

Italian duo, Armonica team up with L.A. based pair Dear Humans for a superb new offering on the Stereo Mc’s connected label. Armonica have built a solid reputation over the last few years with standout releases on Mo’Black, Still Vor Talent and Madorasindahouse. Now they join forces with producer Corey Epstein and vocalist & songwriter Alex Who? AKA Dear Humans for an EP which sees the collaborative team digging deep with 3 tracks of atmospheric and emotive electronic excellence. The release opens with title track ‘Music + Me’ , a beautifully textured affair withrising strings, deep rhythms and a entrancing synth work that conjures up the feel of early electro ambiance. Spacious, musical and emotionally haunting, this is a real gem from this collective. The second title, ‘Better With Time’ comes in two variants, opening with Armonica’s version which journey’s into deep, melodic house, with a hypnotising rhythm section producing the perfect base for the delicate piano lines and heartfelt vocal of Dear Humans. The package is completed as Dear Humans deliver their take which has an expansive and laid back feel characterised by tribal percussion, xylophone lines and a stunning treatment of the vocal which sucks you into the groove. This is a superb collaboration that results in a truly memorable EP on connected.
