Safe and Sound is a high-energy rip-snorter of a tune, propelled by pounding drums and a powerful guitar hook, about the dying days of a couple’s romantic relationship. As the end comes near and the downward spiral begins into a pit of self-pity, drunkenness and despair, sometimes the only comfort can be found “on the cold and dirty ground”. Not as cheery as the track sounds, right? Well, that's life for ya.
