PIV039 comes from Birmingham-based duo Ruze. Known for their dedication towards dynamically driven basslines, it seems only right that "Mindset" kickstarts this package in infectious ways. "Chapter" takes over with a blistering groove fully loaded with dynamic snare play, while "Tales of Shinjuku" easily feels like a homage to the Japanese game era of the 90s. Once again here Robbie shows his love of 90's house grooves and a real grasp of depth. It's My Beat is a tight, kicking tune with rubbery bass rumbling underneath razor sharp hi hats. Well placed vocals bring a futuristic sense of soul and as the groove bumps on it's easy to see why floors have been rocking to this one.
