THE EASY ROAD

Late night rhyming on a sunday 
After a weekend of getting soaked in the rain
We saw that rainbow
In the sky
A mystery reveals itself
To i n i
Too soon to tell
When the wishing well
Will allow for another 
Star crossed encounter
And the magic is undeniable
But the more we put it into words
And open up the potential of losing ourselves
The riskier it becomes
And the more we find ourselves
Running scared
Hiding inside
Insightful messages 
From the other side
She can’t deny
These feelings
And you can’t deny 
Her light is shining
For you so brightly
LIke the star that you are
The reality makes things very perplexing
Could you think of something free
Perhaps meet her in a dream?
The more you try to put your finger on it
Or claim it or speak it into existence
The less it seems to have any merit
And so i am trying to slow my roll
Take a step back and get a hold of myself
These feelings are undeniable
But this is an uncharted road
Unfamiliar and uncomfortable
Riddled with feelings of love and possible eminent disaster
We walk down a blissful existence
Should we rock the boat?
If we are not careful of our hearts
Wearing caution tape
Getting lost is sometimes a gift 
But its best to take the easy road
The one less travelled
May lead us into a maze or labyrinth
That we may not be ready to unravel
When keeping ourselves centered and whole
Is truly the goal we should be focusing on right now
The whole world is going to hell in a handbasket
And it’s really up to us
To steer this mothership back to calmer waters
Where we can float down a lazy river rather than
Ride a tidal wave and crash like the tittanic
So you sea
We must simply just keep ourselves holy

The Easy Road

This is my very first collaboration with my son who composed this very beautiful piano piece for my last birthday. Was such a joy to record it (and he allowed me to add some synth sounds)
