"Let Sleeping Dogs Lie Part 4" is an enchanting embodiment of the contemporary new-age genre, where serenity and introspection find harmony in the form of music. The brother-and-sister duo is formed by cellist Bryan Cheng—prizewinner of the 2022 Queen Elisabeth Competition and 2021 Concours de Genève — and pianist Silvie Cheng, 2022-23 musician-in-residence of Cecilia Concerts in Halifax.

Named one of CBC Music’s “30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30”, the dynamic Cheng² Duo tours extensively throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and South Africa. Recent and upcoming highlights include Beethoven's Triple Concerto with Symphony Nova Scotia, debut recitals in the Kulturkreis Gasteig series (Munich), Frauenkirche Dresden, Flagey (Brussels), California Center for the Arts, Dame Myra Hess Series (Chicago), Weill Hall (Carnegie Hall), Harvard University, Vancouver Recital Society, Salle Bourgie (Montréal), Walter Hall (Toronto), and Ottawa Chamberfest.

Cheng² Duo has released a trilogy of albums on the German label audite: Russian Legends (2019, a BBC Radio Scotland Album of the Week), Violonchelo del fuego (2018), and Violoncelle français (2016, one of WCRB Classical Radio Boston’s top 8 CDs of 2017). These recordings have received international accolades for their “musical sensitivity”, “taste, sure flair for phrasing, and beauty of sound” (Das Orchester, Germany), “phenomenal virtuosity” (pizzicato Magazine, Luxembourg), and “passionate, invigorating...masterful performances” (MusicWeb International, UK). Their fourth album, featuring commissioned works and original arrangements of folk songs by composers of diverse Asian heritage, will be released in fall 2023.
