StonyTony - see these things

This is a project made up of nothing but songs my friends and I made over the span of 3-4 years that we never did anything with. Whether it be not having finished a song to finishing a song but not uploading it, you will find here a collection of music we "sat" on for years. 
Every single song holds a special place in my heart because I still have memories of creating each one with the specified person that'll be mentioned. 
Born from the desire to give my friends a place to come visit their old songs and maybe a huge dump of nostalgia I have separated all 70+ songs into 2 albums, this being Volume 1 and the other half being Volume 2.
As the recording engineer/producer on all of these songs I have looked back to see flaws of my own, I could've done better with—specifically my own production. 
Now I don't believe in the slander of producers who use samples/loops but I think that the level of appreciation of your own work is by far more enjoyable if created in your own way. I have no hate for the people who do use samples/loops in their entirety because I'd be a hypocrite if I did.
A good amount of songs within this album and the next use samples/loops to their full extent. If I could I would give credit where credit is due but over the years I have had difficulties keeping the project files and their corresponding recorded/sampled files.
I only say this because of my own growth in producing/recording/mixing.

Was gonna take this song a completely new direction at first but through a good mistake I created the beat of this song and had my best friend Bryant/Bry (Yemxi) hop on this track the very next day. We also had a lot of the other SBBG crew help with some of the lyrics and I honestly think this is our best song yet.

The original version of this song was going to be a solo for Loon but Dawson (Prosper) hopped in on it for fun and it sounded clean. The Mike (King Faisal) came over to chill and we showed him the song and he loved it. He, on the spot, wrote lyrics to it and just likke that he was apart of song. Then the question came up of, "Who's song is this?". So we decided that it's everyones song and we called it a tape.

Me, Bryant (Yemxi), Prosper (Dawson), and Anthony (Phat Grain) have been working on this EP before school even got out for summer. What really caught us by surprise is when we made the song Up Town. We have always wanted to make a pop song we have just never really tried at it until now. What happened was me and Bryant were sitting in this DIY studio we built in my garage just thinking of lyrics for the pre-mature beat I made that is now Up Town. All of a sudden I said then like, "I'm up town" then Bryant said, "Your downtown" and it took off like that. Just thinking and saying lines to each other back and forth. What was hard was the doubling of voices we had to take for the song. It was a mistake at first but it sounded good when I played two of Bryant's takes of the hook at the same time. I am actually one of the doubles in the song to give it that extra big sound you hear. We think it turned out great for our first pop song and were definitely gonna make more. 
I also sang a little in the song "Acid Wave" featuring Prosper. I was the drawn out choir type pattern in the beginning, a little in the middle and at the end of the song. The song was originally going to be 5-6 minutes because prosper had soooo much shit he wanted to spit. But I cut all of it down to make it at least a 4:30 song. Prosp can be biblical at some points and in this song he had his own version of the hook at the end.
Making the song "17" was fuckin fun. The beat was meant to go to Fish God but when Bryant and Anthony heard it they had to be on it. Anthony had the hook about being to busy making money to turn 17 and thought that since Bryant is 17 now that he should say the same thing but say 18 every time Anthony says 17. It was pretty smart and I hella liked the idea of it.
"Mean to Me" was a song made in a day. I don't know what Bryant was on when he wrote this song but he did it crazy fuckin fast. We recorded it that same night and throughout up until now we've been touching it up by adding and taking stuff out. 
The beat for "BackPack" was made a longggg time ago which I just now unearthed from my countless songs I have saved throughout the years. What sucks a lot was Bryant was god damn near asleep when he recorded it. We could have redo it when he was more awake but the only time we could've was after the dead line for this EP to drop. I'm not saying it's a bad song because personally I love how we took that old ass beat I made like 1 - 2 years ago and turned it into something, I just wish we could've retaken it once more.

This was Phat Grain's first ever song but just released very late. We made it in a completely crammed garage that turned into our studio after we moved everything out and put in all of the studio equipment. 
In the infamous words of Phat Grain, "This goes hard".

Debbie Downer - Phat Grain (Prod. TJD)

The track, "Times Have Changed" by Phat Grain was about Anthony's most recent break up with this one chick. He obviously made it retaining toward her with references and humor. All and all this boi really moved on but it shows what he was going through at the time.

This song was the first to have the SBBG radio producer tag at the beginning. Josh Treehoe was the deep voice behind it. 
If you've been listening to Phat Grain's music for awhile now you'd come to realize that he is very explicit with what he says in his songs and this one really put emphases on that explicit "private part".
