03 Do The Right Thing (folk Song)

This is part one of the "Billy in the Box" concert we did at LPPACenter last year, as part of our "In The Box" concert series.  

The reason there are two parts is that Part One was recorded off a stereo "house mic" hanging 20 feet above the center of the audience.  

Part Two will include multi-track recordings of the rest of the concert, The reason there is no multi-track of Part One is due to operator error on my part.  I didn't have the kick and snare patched to the correct tracks and didn't notice it until "New York State of Mind." 

Unfortunately, I had to stop recording while I corrected the patch and that happened during Scott Anderson's excellent rendition of "Root Beer Rag."  Apologies...  Bygones... 

Setting up the recording patch is usually the last thing I do, since it is not a requirement for these shows.  I basically record them because the recording engineer instinct to "capture everything" kicks in halfway through the sound check.  

Part Two will be arriving later today or tomorrow, as it takes a bit longer to mix than one stereo track.  Hope you enjoy it.  This is what the audience hears at our In The Box series.
