All music and lyrics written by me (Beret Finken). All vocals and instruments (piano, guitar, cello, djembe, cajon, shaker, and Irish low whistle) performed/programmed by me. Additional instruments/effects programmed by Scott Helgerson (Audio Atelier Studio). Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Audio Atelier Studio in North Mankato, MN.

Be Still (Live Performance)

A few days ago, Danish artist Myrkur put out an isolation challenge to cover the song "Leaves of Yggdrasil" from her new Folkesange album, so this is what I have been up to since then. It isn't perfect, by any means, but I'm proud of it. I will probably end up releasing it at some point onto streaming platforms, so keep an eye out for that!

I only recently discovered Myrkur, and she has been a true inspiration for me. I've found that I really resonate with her as an artist, and it feels like her music could be coming directly from my own soul - or, rather, the sound of her music is similar to the direction I would like to take with my own.

"Reven" means "the fox" in Norwegian. This song is based on a dream I had as a child about a fox. The idea of time is key.

Day 3 of the 21 Day Video Game Music Challenge. A fun, relaxing overworld loop (I've obviously been playing Animal Crossing too much...).

Day 4 of the 21 Days of Video Game Music Challenge! Today's loop is a cold, winter setting - more melodic and emotional than a soundscape, though.

Dance of the Winter Winds

Day 5 of the 21 Days of Video Game Music Challenge! This track was particularly challenging for me for a number of reasons: I have never composed using 8-bit sounds before, I hardly ever write upbeat songs, and I am horrible at coming up with beats. But it was actually really fun! It is supposed to sound like a chiptune battle theme. Can you tell that it is heavily influenced by Pokemon?
