"Railgeek" brought his horn truck over to the Chehalis "Oktoberfest" camera meetup,  with some horns and a bell, which were demonstrated, and I recorded.  His vehicle was positioned closest to the "left" mics I was using to record the passing trains with...  What is most instructive about this track is that despite the obvious microphone clipping on the left channel the right one only 16 feet more distant wasn't, or a marvelous demonstration of the "inverse square law" as it applies to sound pressure level from a point source ;)  Using the -10dB pad on the Audio-Technica 2035 microphones would have likely solved the clipping issue...
