Celebrating two decades of music, Pets Recordings founders Catz 'n Dogz continue their milestone year with another remix release. Following the captivating rework of 'Open Door' by Jonathan Kaspar, they now hand over another of their original tracks to a trusted friend of the label - Angelos.

Originally released in 2018, 'The Choice' features a gritty, jacking warehouse beat paired with a spoken sermon by New Jersey vocalist Bunty. The track's themes of friendship, trust, and love, are core values that both the duo and their label uphold in 2024. The initial release included stellar remixes from Bawrut, Adriyano, and Beton, but today the track takes a new and exciting direction with a rework by recent Pets inductee, Angelos.

His pounding toms, acid licks, and rolling snares all seamlessly blending with Bunty's remarkable vocal to create a roof-raising crescendo, confirm that Angelos' reimagined version of 'The Choice' is poised to be one of the soundtracks of the summer

Theus Mago last took listeners on a nocturnal ride with his Terremoto Valley Express, and now the Mexican producer is back-this time teaming up with close friend and regular studio partner Dominik Marz for their new 'Bajo Bajo' EP.

Having already made waves with releases on Dusky's 17 Steps and Theus' own Duro label, the duo maintain their pace by cooking up some 'Instant Dog.' A track packed with bounding toms, a hypnotic melody, fierce 909s, and a relentless build that makes it impossible to ignore.

More acid licks on the flip with the title track, 'Bajo Bajo.' The original's bubbling rhythm gives way to the heads-down energy of Ketiov's remix, as he ditches the disco for a piano-pierced thumping house groove.

A seminal selection for our 175 episode. Featuring a CD has that mystic quality sitting on the store shelves of HMV or whichever record store you shopped in. With unforgettable artwork and a sound that has gone onto secure it's classic status. And although I didn't buy this first release... I had a subconscious feeling it was something very special indeed.

‘Me Plus 1’ follows with another universal call to dancefloor action… And there’s space on the guestlist for everyone. Another rolling slab of unfettered groove, this time much darker, tribal and hypnotic, but loaded with a serious subversion midway; by the time this really kicks in you’ve lost your plus one and you won’t find them until the end of the night. 
Finally we close with a bang as ‘Revolver’ fires shots in all directions. Another warm, timeless analogue chugger, another brilliantly trippy twist midway, another example of why Dalfie keeps getting called back to Pets again and again. Tell us what you think…

A long-standing operator on labels such as Future Disco and Boogie Angst, here we find the Belgian-based Portuguese-Italian making his debut on Pets with four blistering slabs of disco. A fine balance of groove, bass and cosmic nuances, we kick off with 'One Day We'll Float' where a bulbous party bassline springs from nowhere and instantly uplifts.

It's backed by plenty more goodtime gold: 'The Heart Take Fright' nods wryly at Yazoo while chugging from here to the horizon, 'Personal Numbness' is a much more contemplative, introspective jam while 'Electric Dreams' lives up to its name with a Moroder-like prowl that quickly turns into a full-on chase. Fast lane music for people who understand the importance of slowing down and taking care of yourself. Take our advice, make Vhyce your vice today.
