The Night Racer

Bold, dramatic, and full of infectious hooks, Mother Mania is a cross hemispheric smash collaboration between UK based synthwave producer Neilio, and the breakout Australian based retrowave artist ELYXIR. This high octane guitar driven synth bop packs an absolute punch, with ferocious licks, slaps, and guitar riffs combined with a potently catchy melodic topline that highlights ELYXIRs powerful and electric vocal performance. 

Don’t be fooled however, Mother Mania may get you dancing but lyrically there is a dark and dystopian narrative of abuse that can be interpreted in a variety of ways by the listener depending on their life experience. A stellar debut of songwriting and performance from ELYXIR, and the beginning of a new creative journey between the pair of artists.

I love stand-alone hardware sequencers especially step sequencers & I’m not a big fan of DAW’s 

“I’m pretty good at the tunes but lyrics don’t come easily to me” , hey perhaps that’s a lyric line 

I Love 80s synth based music , old Human League , Heaven 17 , kraftwerk , OMD and early Gary Numan 

My musical hero is Martyn Ware , as I’m also a Sheffield lad
