Latent Dirichlet Allocation is an example of a topic model and belongs to the machine learning field and in a wider sense to the artificial intelligence field. The latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) is a generative statistical model that allows sets of observations to be explained by unobserved groups that explain why some parts of the data are similar. For example, if observations are words collected into documents, it posits that each document is a mixture of a small number of topics and that each word's presence is attributable to one of the document's topics.

How to do it:
1) Make a really slow animation in a procedural modelling program - I used Mandelbulb 3D, which combines fractals with ordinary 3D space transformations
2) Set up a  drone of the same length in a music synthesis application - I used Max/MSP
3) Use the changing parameters of the animation to control some of the parameters of the drone, so that it evolves over time in perfect synchronisation with the animation.
It really IS that simple... but ... would anybody notice?

I made the music on a home made software synth, built using Nax/MSP. It uses a "Krell Patch" for sequencing - an original idea by the American composer Todd Barton - https://soundcloud.com/user7621213.
