The countdown is drawing to a close as we approach the highly anticipated release of the year. Boris Brejcha's 9th album, "Level One," is set to drop on Fckng Serious on April 19, 2024. As we edge closer to this monumental release date, we're treated to a final sneak peek. This preview includes two tracks, "Terminal Zero" and "Atlantis," showcasing Boris Brejcha's signature style once again.

Boris himself describes his album as a captivating blend of familiar and nostalgic sounds, offering listeners a delightful journey through his artistic career. "Level One" encapsulates his entire musical journey, featuring a variety of songs that not only showcase his unmistakable style but also pay homage to his previous works.

The two new tracks, "Terminal Zero" and "Atlantis," are not only integral parts of Boris' set but also represent the fusion he aims to emphasize in his album. "Terminal Zero" reveals Boris's deep connection to high-tech minimal sounds beloved in clubs. Its driving bassline and classic Boris Brejcha elements make it suitable for both big festivals and intimate techno clubs. All in pressurized volatility and steel-clad punch, the lead single unfolds a contrasted sequencing, swinging moods and rhythms as the bass-heavy pressure makes itself more menacing with every bar. From a stealth, passive-aggressive early buildup to a fun-loving second half focussing on the epicness of the gated vox chatter and elastic synthwaves, Lampé serves up an absolute treat of a peak-time weapon, zeroed in on submerging dance floors with its powerhouse engineering of uptempo drive and cavernous punch.
In the producer's own admission a track built to ease the raver from a nightly scenario into a sun-drenched setup, 'Pressurized' oscillates "between dark and bright with a hypnotic and easy groove". Percolating a zesty mix of heavy-traction electro swagger and industrial techno gone astray, the track shifts gears with seamless panache, stacking up energy to better fire it back across the room. A choice first transmission that astutely surfs the edge between total club sweep-up and playful 90s-style exhalations.

After a 4 year hiatus, I'm excited to share what I've been working on for the past year. Starlight is a two track EP with an original club mix, and a stripped down, atmospheric breakbeat mix. 

The creation of Starlight was inspired by a soulseeking backpacking journey to Indonesia. The track has a deep groove, ethereal melodies and an immersive atmosphere. Hope you like it!

‘Rakas’ marks LUMI’s anticipated debut on Tiga’s esteemed Turbo Recordings, after a series of hotly received music already from the Finnish producer that have landed on labels including HE.SHE.THEY, Second State, Octopus Recordings and Kneaded Pains.

Like all of LUMI’s music, the four tracks on ‘Rakas’ present a radical exploration of tough dance stylings. Exquisitely executed, the EP cautiously edges into life with lead track ‘In Ether’ before breaking into an EBM-type beat. The breakdowns are methodical, gradually arriving before then departing on a railroad of stuttering hats, metallic recoiling bass and heady melodies.

LUMI noticeably ups the stakes with ‘Rakas’. A dark, shifting bass signals its introduction but before long a series of hoover stabs begin to loom aside pacy drumrolls all of which fuse gloriously to soundtrack LUMI’s chopped vocals. The EP continues to ascend with the fittingly titled, ‘Don’t
Stop’. With its Detroit house leanings channelled at varying points of the track, the beat casually gets underway arriving at a surprisingly hectic drop to then jolt, shake and backflip its way to a close.

Rounding off the release is ‘Hey’ which jitters with a shuffling energy, gaping sawtooth effects and a looping rave motif that remains a constant almost throughout. Yet again, by mining her cerebral knowledge of electronic music, LUMI has delivered a collection of tracks that draw on many of her musical influences whilst retaining her own signature style.

Secret Feelings reaches the heart of the summer season with a new single from label boss JFR. Hailing from Argentina but currently calling Spain home, Juan Franco Rivero aka JFR has carved out a unique sonic identity in the world of progressive and organic house, resulting in a string of uniquely crafted records that present a resonant worldly sound. Enjoying a steady rise since emerging 2017, it was 2021 which proved to be a breakout year for JFR, as the Argentine continued his upward trajectory with a standout release for UK behemoth Anjunadeep; a project which would lead to offerings via Clubsonica and Musique de Lune across the next calendar year, and in turn garnering support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Sebastian Leger. 2023 would also bring newfound success for JFR, launching his Secret Feelings imprint amidst much praise. With a healthy balance of progressive and organic house, coupled with a consistent release schedule, Secret Feelings now sits as one of the underground's best new labels. Now, following a contribution to All Day I Dream's popular 'Summer Sampler' series, JFR lands back on his Secret Feelings imprint with 'Kill Me Again', alongside remixes from DJ Ruby, Kebin Van Reeken and Briska.

Remix number one is provided by DJ Ruby who makes his label debut following a strong outing for Ruben Karapentyan's RKP imprint. Taking more of a traditional progressive house approach, the Maltese talent adds a beefier complement of percussion and lively rhythmic elements, both of which work well against the wistful themes of the original, while a well-crafted break keeps things on the right side of cool, eventually leading to a thunderous dubbed out drop that's sure to satisfy all the peak time progressive house lovers out there.
