Hello amigos! We are back with a fresh new episode of our music podcast. We welcome a Reno/Tahoe local for out 6th edition.

Kaden Koch (aka Caduceus) is a musician born in Reno, Nevada and currently based out in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia.

In his younger years he attended small gatherings by his friends where his love for electronic music flourished. Spinning till dawn on what they call now “Dinotech” mixers, being powered off of an unlucky souls subwoofers (which were in plethora at that time). Connection and creativity were the core values of the company and of the music. 

His background in producing electronic music came mostly from the last decade of trance and ambient instrumentals. Infusing aspects of those genres while hybridizing with the
techno scene he was exposed to while living in Chicago is how he came upon his “sound”. Integrating the three together in a delicate and delicious manner is the essence of his compositions.

Later into his adulthood has helped host and coordinate local events such as “The Brickletown Getdown”(Truckee, CA) the “Deep Down” (Reno, NV), and Comos Industry Night (Truckee, CA) with the Bureau of Hindsight. 
While performing sound healings at local yoga studios is where he coined the title “Caduceus”. Healing the mind, body and spirit through vibration. 

From whether it’s playing music to friends, family, clubs, bars, studios, art cars, renegades, festivals, burning man etc. One goal is kept in mind and that’s to deliver the magic of the music.

They pack quite the punch both as a DJ and as a artist. If you had the pleasure of experiencing the Psychedelic Cabin at Forest Creatures 5 then you’ve had a taste, as they were the lead behind that amazing camp. Let’s take a closer look into kaPOWski. 

How long have you been DJing? 
I got into this during the pandemic, after years of making playlists and collecting music.

Where do you live? 
Bozeman, MT

Where are you from originally?
Portland, OR

Why did you get into it?
I have a traditional music background and work professionally in the event production field, so I already spend a lot of time in the areas where music and community and party overlap. I met a new friend at a small private festival who volunteered to teach me how to use the software and equipment, and I was HOOKED!

What events have you played?
I played several sets at Burning Man in 2022 and 2023, as well as playing at some smaller regional burn events. I love playing private/community parties. And I just played at the Rialto in Bozeman in December.

What inspires you to DJ? 
Being the beating heart of a party and a vibe. Not in a way that is driven by ego - honestly if I completely blend into the background of an excellent experience for others, I’ve done it right.

What genres are in your mix? 
House and disco are my heart home. Techno is my sexy lover. Breakbeat is the cool kid that I’m still getting up the nerve to talk to.

Can you tell us about your mix?  
This was a fun practice sesh I did at home that I just happened to hit record on, and it gelled together in a beautiful way - I feel like this is a pretty succinct representation of my DJ viewpoint.
