Kaos London Podcast #013 Frequency Shifter

We are pleased to welcome Sob Story to the Kaos Podcast Series. 

Sob Story is the main collaborative project of London-based producers and DJ duo Oliver and Vilhelm. Familiar faces within the city's clandestine corners, the two have respectively cut their teeth playing prominent parties across the capital including HTBX, Judgement Hall, UNFOLD and Aria.  The Sob Story project marries the oppressive melancholy of Vilhelm's body-music sleaze with Oliver's dystopian, steely EBM. Collectively cultivating their nuanced oeuvre, the pair's sonic landscape is composed of cold electronics, lacquered drums and gleaming synths. 

Sob Story play Kaos London on Saturday 16 September alongside Soft Crash. Their first Ep Doghouse is releasing on Khemia Records in September with remixes from ANFS and Harsh Mentor.

Black Asteroid is Bryan Black. Former sound engineer for Prince, one half of the critically acclaimed MOTOR, DJ, producer, live performer. Kaos London Podcast #15 Black Asteroid

We are delighted to welcome Extase Urbaine as the 16th guest on the Kaos London Podcast Series.

Hailing from Greece, DJ and producer Extase Urbaine has been gaining momentum, achieving international recognition in the electronic music scene with performances at renowned clubs such as Berlin's OXI, Amsterdam's RADION, and Athens' Astron, in addition to notable appearances at major events like the ADD festival in the Greek capital.

His DJ sets cross weave genres and scenes, blending everything from techno and electro to acid and trance-y explorations, or, as he aptly describes it, ‘body music for all bodies’.

While DJing remains his true passion, Extase’s own productions have garnered attention for their distinctive synth-wave orientation. With acclaimed releases already on Soil and Ferma records and an upcoming debut EP in the works.

Kaos London Podcast #19 Years of Denial

For the 20th edition of our podcast series and the first for 2024 we are very pleased to welcome Statiqbloom. 

Statiqbloom is the brainchild of Fade Kainer. A project that began in 2014 in Brooklyn NYC, later becoming a duo with Denman C. Anderson (2016-2020). Fade was a member of the industrial doom band Batillus, noise synth dread project Theologian, and has also worked with Jarboe (ex-Swans) and Attila Csihar (Mayhem, SunnO)))).

Currently based in Berlin, he is combining hardware and software in creating noisy modular-engineered industrial techno and building live sets by meshing heavy hard industrialised rhythms with unfolding blackened atmospheres and disorienting vocals.

Statiqbloom has released on Sonic Groove, Metropolis Records, Synthicide and Desire Records.

Kaos London Podcast #20 Statiqbloom

D.T.D. (Dark Time Decadence) is an electronic music project founded by Giuseppe Augello in Naples.

Inspired by the late 19th-century decadence movement, D.T.D.'s conceptual focus explores decadent heroism, engaging with themes such as identity denial, primitivism, human failure, sexuality, ritual, submission and power. 

The project's distinctive style combines a variety of dystopian and dark atmospheres, heavily influenced by post-punk, EBM, and industrial genres. In his productions D.T.D. incorporates field recordings and experiments with DIY noise boxes to deliver a unique sonic palette, ranging from industrial brutality to agile, hypnotic techno. During live performances, D.T.D's intuitive, dramatic approach engages audiences with his decadent ceremonies.

Kaos London Podcast #21 D.T.D

Ćyan ID is the latest project from Giorgi Bekurashvili, a DJ, producer and live performer from Tbilisi. Giorgi has been a prominent fixture in Tbilisi's underground music scene from a young age, as a music fiend, and, as of 2022, a founder of the recording label HOUND. Having spent many years experimenting with varying sounds and projects within the city’s mercurial musical landscape, he launched the Ćyan ID project in 2019. Drawing from a wide array of influences from the ever evolving techno scene of the moody Georgian capital, Ćyan ID can be described as an unusual blend of EBM, wave, post-punk and aggravated techno. Its bold brew of mournful melodies, reverberating rhythms and destructive drums has been released on labels such as HOUND, DETRITI RECORDS, X-IMG, RAW, OSM TAPES, and SOIL.

He has played at in clubs such as Corsica Studios, Five Miles, The Cause, The Egg or LANNA, for parties like DON’T, Jaded or HTBX, and has performed his own music live at events such as Tempting Failure festival. His sound is characterised by dystopian themes, rich low frequencies, rough beats and dark industrial atmospheres.
