Ask some rappers why they do it and they’ll answer you with flossy photos of money, fast cars, and half-naked women…all a carefully curated attempt to reflect their “fame”. But if you ask Tak The Viking why he raps, he will say “Because I have to". Although he was born and raised in LA, Tak is not here to chase fame, he is here to honor and respect hip hop, and share the love and passion for it that he was given at an early age. Honing his craft while raising a family in San Diego, Tak is ready to show the world he is on the mic for a reason. 

 

In 2017, Tak linked up with SoCal hip hop veteran artist and producer, Ariano, and what they created is a reflection of an artist who wears his truth and his heart on his sleeve. On the songs "Love Me for Me" and “More Than a Dream,” Tak doesn’t hold back on expressing his love for both his wife and for the music music and how he will not let either go. With “Be Free" and "Peace and War,” Tak’s raw honesty, paired with Ariano's hooks and production, leads you through an unfiltered lyrical journey about the human need for freedom of expression.  

 

Intent is the reason artists connect long-term, and Tak is introducing us to his world with the intentions of honesty, vulnerability, and pure skills on the mic. This is an EP that will get the respect of the old and tap into the new energy of the youth. This is not music for the single purpose of chasing fame, this is music for the soul.
