Manchester based Rock outfit ‘Dalmas’ return with their newest single ‘Is This Love’ with Native South Records on the 17th of September 2021. After the release of their debut EP ‘Stay' in March supported by BBC 6 Music, George, Jacob and Augustus have teamed up with California based producer Jonathan Smith to collaborate on their new single. Taking inspiration from the likes of Biffy Clyro and Nothing But Thieves, this is a new direction for the band with sounds influenced from 80’s pop classics infused with live rock elements the band is known for. The song tells the story of a new found relationship that has every potential of blossoming into something beautiful whilst looking at the excitement that the future holds. When speaking about the track drummer and singer George said “after the year everyone has had we want this track to make people feel good about life, lyrically it is completely different for us, we want people to feel joyous after listening to this track”. The band recorded completely remotely in Manchester (UK) in George’s student house giving the band a chance to go back to basics and connect with each other after the struggles of the pandemic lockdowns. After George met LA based producer Jonathan Smith on a trip to California in 2019 the band have wanted to collaborate with Jonathan ever since and this felt like the perfect song to start with. Working over FaceTime, this was a really unique and new way for the band and Jonathan to produce this track however pushing to always do something new, Dalmas and Native South Records hope to continue releasing music into the future.

‘In Too Deep’ released on the 14th Of June 2019 is everything to expect from a Dalmas release, pumping drums, heavy guitars and beautifully melodic. The name Dalmas comes from the 1973 Australian film, which was titled Dalmas, guitarist Jacob Maguire, soon named the band after the film.

The band worked with engineer Dan Mizen helping to make the loud louder. Starting with acoustic guitar and an emotional vocal line, George tells the story of an emotionally drained situation. The track builds into the first chorus where guitarist Jacob Maguire and Bass player Augustus Clark enter with full heavy guitar tones. George’s vocals strain an emotional line, making it instantly recognizable as a Dalmas creation. After anthemic chorus’s, smashing pumpkins 90’s guitar inspired sounds and big vocal harmonies, this is a true stadium rock anthem. 

Manchester's latest and loudest rock trio combines the rough streets of Wigan with the cold brittle Norwegian weather infused with the lovely Harrogate springs. True to their word, Dalmas are loud, raw and own their unique sound, making them stand out in their genre. In Too Deep - Radio Edit

After the success of their previous single ‘In Too Deep’, Dalmas are back with their newest single ‘Set Me Free’ released on 11th October, and also announcing their very first headline gig in Manchester, on October 19th at the Castle. 

The band wanted their latest single to have more of an experimental vibe and some unexpected twists throughout. Dalmas are getting ever closer to the unique sounds in their heads, with pumping delayed drum’s, driving bass tones, wacky guitar sounds and heavily effected vocal falsetto. Dalmas have packed ‘ballad’ and ‘heavy rock’ into one song with ‘Set Me Free’.

Dalmas worked again with producer and engineer Dan Mizen to create new sonic soundscape’s. Mizen worked closely with the band to create some new interesting sounds that are different to anything else, working especially closely with George Farrar (Singer and Drummer) to create lush vocal harmonies and crazy falsetto tones. 

Set Me Free is truly a new chapter for the band as they continue to experiment with different sounds to create something completely new and unique to Dalmas.

After featuring on BBC 6 Music, BBC introducing, gaining stand out reviews from Reyt Good Magazine and receiving support from the likes of Chris Difford, rock trio Dalmas are back with their new single ‘Mary’. Listeners can expect large soundscapes from the newsiest single and a bright upbeat chorus, screaming summer vibes.

Mary is the second single released by Dalmas in 2020. Telling the story of a dreamy and romantic relationship. Taking on an almost biblical reference, Mary represents someone everyone has in their lives, the person they want to take away to a special place and spend the rest of their lives with. However ultimately Farrar’s lyrics tell the story of a romance  that had to end and where two people were forced to let each other slip away.

Dalmas is a Manchester trio made up of members from around the globe taking influences from Nothing But Thieves, Foo Fighters, Muse, Biffy Clyro and more. Augustus Clark from Norway on bass, Jacob Maguire from Wigan on guitar and George Farrar from Harrogate uniquely a drummer on lead vocals. This is the first track from their upcoming 5 track EP. Taking influence from bands like Biffy Clyro and Nothing But Thieves, 'You say’ is a powerful modern rock song with a ballad chorus to make anyone reminisce. The song is about being asked to leave a relationship you are insistent on trying to continue, even if it’s not healthy. Pleading to try and cope with life’s struggles, this is the start of dangerous path the authors life is about to take.

You Say

After the release of ‘You Say’ supported by BBC Introducing, Manchester based rock band release their second single ‘Prevail’ from their upcoming EP ‘Now I can Sleep’ due for release in February 2021. Drawing sounds from bands such as Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro and Nothing But Thieves, ‘Prevail’ is a hard hitting two minute 35 second rock hit. Following on from the last single ‘You Say’ where the character’s life begins to break down ‘Prevail’ continues the story of the character who’s life is broken down and now being dominated and controlled by another external force. The external force’s life is dominated by the feeling of power and enjoys the fact he has control over someone else’s life and is able to crush someone down to their lowest points.

The bands new single ‘JHM’ takes influence from the likes of Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro and Nothing But Thieves. Written with the intent of making a festival crowd go crazy, the tune is driven by Dave Grohl style drumming and guitars reminiscent of 90’s grunge with a modern twist. Following on from past releases such as ‘You Say’, ‘JHM’ continues the story of living with mental illness and the struggles of coping when life is unbearable. Working with producer Dan Mizen, the band recorded the track in George’s parents house and turned the house into a fully functioning studio for a week. 

Speaking about J George said “JHM was one of those songs that came together in about an hour, we find often the best songs come that way. It’s one of those songs where you can really feel the passion and you just have to go all out with a song like this, it’s got to hit people right in the gut”.

Manchester rock band Dalmas release their debut EP ‘Stay’ with Northern Quarter Records (subsidiary of RNCM)  on the 26th of March 2021, after a succession of single releases including their monster festival anthem ‘Jhm’, which was championed by BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing Amazing Radio and XS Manchester. The 6 track EP features the new unreleased title track ‘Stay’, an in your face, punchy, stadium rock song taking influence from the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Royal Blood and Muse. Lead singer and drummer George Farrar says on the EP “this feels like a momentous moment for the band. It’s the first collection of our songs in one EP and we couldn’t be prouder, we really poured our hearts and souls into these songs and hope people can connect with them in some way”. Converting George’s house into a fully functioning studio for a week in February 2020 to record the songs, the bands debut EP captures the essence of the Farrar’s, Maguire’s and Clarks stadium sound whilst lyrically focusing on the struggles of life. A limited run of 100 CD’s will also be printed and available for order.
