Glasgow, Scotland's links with the Rush canon are solid with the city receiving a special mention for the crowd's singing a long to 'Closer to the Heart' at the Glasgow Apollo on Exit Stage Left

Indeed it is with great pride that the city is recognised for it's 'lit' gig going crowds. 'Legendary' wouldn't be an unfair description

However this attitude is also at the grass roots too where the passion of the crowd is not diminished. What is this je ne sai qua that set's this juggernaut in motion? Can we postulate that it has maybe something to do with the city itself? Maybe. After all there were loads of people from all over Great Britain and beyond visiting the city to see the show. Maybe a critical mass of Glaswegians is still required to act as a catalyst for the effect to spark? Who the hell knows? Let’s just accept it as a ‘thing’

What is for sure is that the last two songs of the set are testament to this 'Glasgow' effect. Basically, Clockwork Angels pitched the ball and the crowd knocked it RIGHT OUT OF THE PARK. What an amazing bunch of Rush fans that were in attendance that night. Right up for it!!
