ANCHOR: Harlem shake, cotton-eyed joe, cha-cha slide, whip and nae nae… and now the running man challenge….The latest viral dance craze was started right here at the University of Maryland.

REPORTER: If you’ve never heard Ghost Town DJs’ “My Boo” before… you definitely will now. 
UMD basketball players Jared Nickens and Jalen Brantley posted a video of them doing the running man to this song on Instagram in March and it has since become a viral hit. 

Senior Naomi Zenderman even had the chance to show off her moves with the players in person.

NAOMI: So we were at Bentley’s and we saw the two basketball players that had been in the running man videos that were going viral..I went up to them and asked them if we could do the running man together and we all snapchatted it and it was really funny.

REPORTER: Athletes from universities and professional teams across the country are posting their own videos too
