It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Months of isolation and self-realization led to a calmer and wiser mind, but there were many negative drawbacks to this. Not everyone had the same experience, but a few side effects of extended periods of isolation include emotional deprivation, a newfound appreciation for life, survivor's guilt, and even PTSD.
