Gavin recently mentioned this in a interview: 
The double album is a strange one. I made it when I first moved to this new house I’m currently in. It was sunny (a rare thing for this part of the world), and I was bored, so I just sat and made all this stuff. Some of it is quite sedate, more guitar based, and some is a bit more experimental and electronic. It kinda all fits though, so it’s not like a wild ride of disparate genres or anything! I wanted to do something a little different with them, so I’m doing them as sort of mixes instead of albums – they’re coming out as 1 track CDs, but made up of different songs, all sequenced together. I got the idea from that album ‘My Sister = My Clock’ by dEUS. They’re the Belgian band I took the satan name from (track 3 on their EP ‘Theme From Turnpike’ is called ‘Worried About Satan’), but basically they had loads of unfinished material from their first album, and their label wanted something to tide over fans until their second, so they took all the scraps they had, and put them all together as 1 giant track and interspersed it with weird field recordings of them on tour, or them in the studio. It’s really mad, and not massively listenable, but it’s an interesting curio nonetheless. I basically wanted to copy that, but make it more like you were listening to scraps of fully formed satan songs, all sandwiched together with a purpose. In fact, I remembered after all this dEUS stuff that one of my other favourite bands, Underworld, did a similar thing with their ‘Riverrun’ series (this being my favourite: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxK7AyNMUBQ) -which is all floaty ambience, gently shifting from one tune to another over 30 minutes. That was more what I wanted these things to sound like, but maybe they’re a perfect mix of the two approaches!

Deep Electronics celebrates it's 10 anniversary and for this occassion I started this compilation to invite artists to express there music again in all it's diversity in genres. New artists and artists that where there at the very beginning of the podcast and label. My intention was always to combine music and photography. Later on digital renders where the face of almost every set and release.

Deep Electronics was and is always a podcast for producers and dj's to get the exposure they need and deserve. You always have to start somewhere! I hope I could contributed a little bit in there long and amazing road for them in music.

I would like to thank you all producers, dj's, followers and people that just listen. Without you this 10 years wasn't be possibel!

I hope you enjoy this release as much I did in compiling it.

Boreal Taiga encompasses music influenced from the Northern hemisphere and arctic environments.The sounds are a window to the boreal forests as well as the taiga forests (Russian name) and is also a reflection of arctic regions, snow, ice and water. Boreal Taiga is interested in the exploration of such areas as well as the study of the native cultures that inhabit these beautiful environments.

Boreal Taiga music can be ambient, drone, chill out, psy-ethno or down tempo. JimDe is the sole musician and creator of Boreal Taiga which he started in 1998. He utilizes his extensive binaural field recordings library in the music to add the atmospheres just needed for the journey. Bringing electronic sounds together with real life binuaral samples, the music becomes a reality.

BT Gate X-138 is Boreal Taiga's dub techno side project.
