Kick-starting 2024 in emphatic fashion, Czech rising star Dominik Gehringer releases his highly-anticipated cut ‘Strange World’ on Purified Records. Revisiting Push’s iconic trance anthem, Dominik’s version enters a progressive dimension with masterful synth work and rumbling percussion and has already made a massive impact in sets around the world with its hypnotic presence. 

The ‘Strange World’ artwork showcases Daniel Nicholson’s spectacular still of a whale shark. Despite their imposing size, whale sharks exude an air of tranquility as they glide through the ocean, mouths agape to filter plankton-rich waters. These magnificent beings are not only the world’s largest fish, but they also hold a unique place in marine ecology as gentle filter feeders. Their longevity, reaching up to 70 years, has captured the attention of researchers keen on unraveling the mysteries of their lives. Organizations like the Marine Megafauna Foundation engage in vital conservation efforts, conducting research that not only aids in understanding the species, but also contributes to broader ocean health initiatives. Despite being filter feeders, whale sharks face threats like bycatch, boat strikes, and habitat degradation. Their slow reproductive rate makes them susceptible to population decline. They are listed as endangered according to the IUCN. 

Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. He seeks to share the beauty and magic of the underwater world to inspire conservation and change.

Growing up together, we shared countless moments playing video games, sports, and engaging in mischief like knocking on doors and running away. We also discovered trance music together, deepening our bond. Jimmy is more than a friend; he's a brother from another mother.

In August 2023, Jim was diagnosed with leukaemia, shocking everyone who knew him.  Throughout 2023, Jimmy endured unimaginable trials during his treatment, including multiple rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant in the summer.

Jimmy's journey is nothing short of inspiring, a testament to his resilience and strength. 'Warrior' is a humble tribute to his incredible fight—a reminder that he's not just a survivor but a champion. Making an emphatic return to Purified Records, Ovadia introduces his two-track ‘Pentatonic’ EP. Devising a hard-hitting soundscape from the get-go, Ovadia fuses striking synth work with soaring chants, resulting in a festival-ready cut that will keep energy levels high throughout. Leading into ‘Brick By Brick’, Ovadia combines his powerful production style with a softer touch through the track’s emotive vocals.

The ‘Pentatonic’ artwork showcases a majestic shot of a Zebra shark, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Zebra sharks, with their distinctive spotted skin and flexible bodies, are important contributors to the health of coral reef ecosystems. They help maintain the balance of marine populations by preying on small fish and invertebrates, thus preventing any single species from dominating the reef environment. Additionally, zebra sharks are a draw for ecotourism, which can promote marine conservation and awareness about the importance of diverse and healthy ocean habitats. Organizations like Shark Allies are dedicated to the protection and conservation of sharks and rays. Their focus is on taking action, on raising awareness and guiding initiatives that reduce the destructive overfishing of sharks on a global scale.
