Indeterminacy

From my first full length album, released in 2003. Was reading a lot about physics at the time.

Schrödinger's Cat

Formed in the early 1990s in Lower East Side New York City, the band Mercury Mile featured Tim Lomas on vocals and bass, Brian Karl on guitars, Andrea Pierotti on violin, and Billy Ficca (formerly of Television and The Waitresses) on drums. This jaunty number shares an openness to connecting and communication while also signaling an underlying motivation of lively if as yet unsatisfied yearning. Tim sadly passed away March of 2023, and his creative drive and inspiration will be missed by so many he touched.

Receiving

In some early 2000's studio sessions, Timothy Lomas and Brian Karl developed a minimalist hybrid musical approach combining space-rock psychedlia of groups like early Pink Floyd with a careening slide guitar and tinkling/burbling/throbbing down-tempo electronica while Tim sang reminders for us all of mortality on this earthly plain but also what may lie beyond through more cosmological connections. Tim passed away unexpectedly in March of 2023, and we will continue to connect to him through his words and voice and spirit, partially channeled here. 

When our time is done
And this flesh is gone
Beyond this frame of days
Two spirits intertwine

As all of life sings its song divine
