For the 22nd edisode in our growing Elevate.Berlin mix series, we're delighted to welcome one of our favourite DJ, producer and label bosses coming out of the land of the rising sun. Tokyo's @yoshi-horino and his @unknown-season imprint have become synonymous with raw, soulful and understated house music. He began DJing in 1991 and has seen the global rise of House music ever unfolding throughout Japan and further afield across the globe while his label was launched in 2010 and has since gone on to release material from many reputed figures in the contemporary House scene. COEO back on Toy Tonics! The German duo has been part of Toy Tonics since day one. Now they celebrate their return to Toy Tonics with an outstanding EP full of timeless, contemporary house music that also marks their 10th contribution to the label after their first release on the imprint 10 years ago. For the latest release on Rob da Bank’s dance focussed imprint Silver Bear Recordings, longtime collaborators Krywald & Farrer have turned in a three track EP. The Percolate residents are well respected across London for their exemplary skills behind the decks, and the wonderfully titled ‘Top Pocket Persies’ EP is evidence their talent also extends to the studio. Today we premiere the lead track, ‘Spoon Billed Sandpiper’.

‘Spoon Billed Sandpiper’ is testament to the duo’s keen understanding of songwriting. The song begins with a meditative drum pattern, which grows more propulsive as pads begin to swirl around it. An early breakdown is accompanied by a heart torn vocal sample before the beat comes back in, sounding even more frenetic to ensure to send the floor into raptures.
