Two and a half years ago, I wrote a song about the extinction of species and our negligent treatment of creation: ‘The last Beluga Whale’. At the time, young people were drawing massive attention to the fact that their future was more endangered than ever. I thought about them in one verse. But what has changed to this day, except that I feel even more strongly than back then how our existence hangs by a thread. Vor zweieinhalb Jahren schrieb ich einen Song, der das Artensterben und unseren fahrlässigen Umgang mit der Schöpfung zum Inhalt hatte: "The last Beluga Whale". Damals machten junge Leute massiv darauf aufmerksam, dass ihre Zukunft stärker denn je gefährdet ist. Ich bedachte sie in einer Strophe. Doch was hat sich bis heute geändert, außer dass ich noch stärker als damals spüre, wie unsere Existenz am seidenen Faden hängt. The last falcon in the sky
circles across the desert land.
We take care of ourselves,
ignoring the changes in the world.

growth is our God in daily life.

God He Did Appear

I was reading through the 3rd book of Psalms (Psalms 84) , when a prayer came up in me. 
"Lord, I don't know what you need to do through this situation, but I pray that it gets done quickly. Use me for that purpose. Use all who are willing."

Our goal is God Himself. 
In me there was a realization that God doesn't care so much about what we ask, but why we ask for such things. What is our intention? Yes we want protection from the virus, but why? 
Yes, Lord I want to know you, but why?
I ask that the next time you make a request to the Lord, just consider what the goal of your request is. That what I've been learning to do.

At any cost dear Lord, by any road. 
Realizing this made a huge difference. The Christian life isn't supposed to be Cushy. It's a mirror of the life that Jesus lived. Didn't matter if it was right or wrong. Didn't matter if it hurt or not. Didn't matter if it was fair. 
 The only thing that mattered was if Christ was with me.
