Soul Tattoo was born of poetry I wrote years ago about a unique, epic and heart wrenching love affair. It is the second single whose lyrics I used from these writings (the first was Our Inception in 2020) 
Presented a few months ago with the dreamy trap beats of L.A. producer Dansonn, I fell in love with the track and knew immediately it was right for the song. In the studio with engineer Ben Arrindell, we chose to keep the vocals whispery (originally due to my cutting demo vocals in my NYC apartment in the middle of the night :) to add to the intimate mood and overall chill atmosphere of the song.

We recorded this track a couple of years ago, in 2006.

And yet, this song is even much older.

I couldn´t say, that I "wrote" it, it just appeared in a few minutes in the night after the death of a girl I loved. We were very young, and she died in an accident.

The place was a little Portugues coast town called "Nazaré", the name of the song.
