If you’re in the right mindset, Berlin winters can feel surprisingly warm. Especially when you spend time rehearsing at the studio with the likes of Cali Rodriguez aka Scorpia Boss Moon, a freshly emerging mexican DJ based in Berlin, who shares with us today her second ever homemade mix. Perfect treat to kick off your week with a strong vibe. 

Cali is DJ whose unique sound is reflected of her time spent in Mexico, Southern California and Berlin. Her sounds embody the hyper saturation of Mexican culture with thick bass lines, breakbeat, reggaeton, footwork, acid and trance blends. The rush of energetic pumps to the body get you bouncing and smiling simultaneously while flowing through blends of both light and dark and everything in between. She explores hypermarginal sounds and the possibility of the future of music that they explore. 

IRL Claudia is a generous ball of energy, and this mix might be another proof that music is the continuity of one’s personality and lifestyle. For you to get a little idea, « ethereal, post-clubbing- intercourse after midnight, consistently wet, extatic bussy, generously fast » were seriously the first words we thought about when trying to name it, no jk. She decided to name it « Scorcher » though, and it’s probably the right choice. One thing is for sure, this mix is quintessentially her and we are very excited to release it on our SC.

We're live with a new podcast series in which I'll be presenting DJs and artists that I find inspiring, exciting or who I think deserve a platform they don't have (yet).

Kicking off things with one of my favorite producers of all times and a true underground hero - Venezuelan electro kingpin @daggatrx. Even though he stepped up into the limelight very recently, his debut EP came out just three years ago via Jensen Interceptor's International Chrome label, he already established himself as one of the genre's most versatile producers, seamlessly fusing genres like Electro, Raptor House, Funk Carioca, Breaks, and Techno. Currently he's producing at hyper speed, releasing a flurry of tracks, edits, remixes and collaborations, while at the same time touring relentlessly. 

This b2b was spontaneously recorded in a basement mid-July in Berlin that also happens to be @elmanao's studio - another artist you should follow. No tracklist, comment for track IDs!

I'd love to see even more kindness, excitement over other people's success and sharing resources among peers. Participation in nightlife stands in inseparable relation to class oppression, gender and race relations. Work on collectivizing the means of musical production, knowledge and status. Working in nightlife can be challenging. So make sure to work out regularly, drink enough water, take breaks and be mindful.
