E-mu command station, One patch -holding C2 notes - oscillations produced with patch cord programming.

Patchcommand!

no sequencing, rythmical oscillations created with the patchcord section of the E-mu Command Station.  The whole "song" is just a C2 note holded, while modulating multiple sample layers with the knobs. 
The feeling of sequencing, is not produced by notes on the sequencer, but with combinations of clock dividers, LFOs, cycling envelopes, and programming the knobs to control specific parameters of the whole texture.

EMUHOLD NOTE 1

Recorder entirely on an E-MU XL-7 Command Station. The use of all 16 tracks/channels are present as well as some automation. By combining 3 different bass sounds in the same key, I was able to create a very powerful rhythm section. The song would have sounded muffled and muddy without the use of the cymbals. They exemplify the mid range of the bass while also cutting clear through the mix, giving room the drums and various lead instruments. The whole song consists of a 1 bar loop.

In this track, I'm aiming for a Robin S. "Show me Love" type of vibe. The main lead are bells that I filtered and EQ'd to my liking. The rest of the track are various presets that can be found on the Xrom (E-MU Rom SIMM standard in all XL-7 stations). Nothing too special here, but it goes to show that you can make full songs just be using these machines alone. They can cover ANY genre too!

Lounge Room Service

This track features a synth riff created using Balma's "One note hold" procedure. Besides that, Its a well rounded dance track! It really shows off the possibilities of sonic creation when you use this machine (XL-7) with its ROM SIMM. Right out of the box, I could have easily made this track, with proper knowledge that is.
