This song is about the frustrations of dealing with a Narcissist in a relationship.  There is no pleasing a narcissist, there is no improvement with a narcissist, there is no compromise, there is no mutual acceptation of responsibility, there is only surrender......Everything is your fault and your fault only.  This type of mental torture is something that can drive a person to blame themselves for everything that goes wrong in a relationship and in your life, and in doing so, destroying your self-respect, confidence, and the will to stand up for yourself, because it is just easier to please the Narcissist.  The Narcissist has an insatiable appetite for conflict, the more conflict there is, the more guilt and emotional imprisonment the person can inflict on their significant other (or better yet, their insignificant other).  The Narcissist never looks within, only out, at you and everyone else around them.  Beware!!
