The Nursery’s 9th release marks the return of Viels, a young up and comer who already contributed memorably on TN001, and it’s good to have him back. The Italian born producer easily outdoes himself with this versatile solo EP called ‘Sinua’.

The EP gently starts of with peaceful pads accompanied by soothing sweeps before effortlessly drifting over into the dreamy dance floor vibes of title track Sinua. But by the time the second half of the tracks dawn, all the cosiness and subtlety starts making place for profound reign. Hypnotising synths are slowly evolving while in the meantime, the powerful presence of old school drum machines provides enough tension. 

Versatility really is the first and most appropriate word that comes to mind when taking this trip across a broad spectrum of electronic music, and moreover a word that does Viels the honour he deserves for exploring and capturing that spectrum.

Outer Limits (Shlømo Remix)

Following up an array of functional club tools, 'made of CONCRETE' invite Linearis to offer up a pack of versatile and idiosyncratic tracks, while dub techno producer El Choop returns on remix duties.

Exploring the outer fringes of the 4/4 realm, 'Differences' delves into unexpected sound territories without losing touch with ground zero. Sub-heavy drums mix with cinematic pads and raw breaks on 'LDB', the genre-bending opener, while 'Trim FX' takes it back to the dancefloor with a highly energetic yet fluid, progressive cut. 'Slow Fade' explores a more melancholic side of techno, with its stripped back atmosphere and echoing dubs. El Choop gives the track a distinguishing treatment, amping up the atmospherics into a resonant, raw number.

Polish, rather new to scene, but extremely talented project Random Sequence originally from Gdańsk debuts on Korpus 9 with an outstanding in every sense EP called Nitrogen Capsule. One by one all five tracks are composed into a complete masterpiece which consists of both action thriller and space adventure and combines into breathtaking science fiction genre. Beginning from daring Vocal Tool we can identify confident hard signature kick wich will follow us throughout most of the release ending with Off enriched with bassy percussion and singular mysterious string pad on the top. A bit of cosmic obscure drama awaits us in Y567 smoothly shifting to Departure wich moves deeply into hypnotic farewell ambience.

Another perfectly assembled EP from Korpus 9 worth having as a main course.

Initially inspired by the UK’s underground bass scene, Tokyo born Risa Taniguchi has developed her own techno and electronic sounds that incorporate influences from these UK & European sounds as well as techno’s long and rich musical tapestry.

Having racked up notable releases for the likes of Redrum Music, Second State and Suara, Taniguchi returns to Kneaded Pains after appearances on the label’s KPAINS albums with her own full EP for Dense & Pika’s label.

Purposeful and pounding acid vibes makeup the title track ‘Rockim’, and continue into ‘Enclozed’, as Taniguchi’s psychedelic vocal refrains zip around a minimal techno production.  Chattering hi-hats establish the forward motion of ‘Wobbel’, another blazing cut that wraps up this effortless EP.
